THE SKATEBOARDINTRODUCTIONHi everyone, I come to speak about the Skateboarding and I wanna explain you theHistory, the different parts of the Skate, and show us different photos of skate.

HISTORY OF SKATEBOARDSkateboarding was probably born in 1950, when the people who practices surf wantedsomething to do like the surf but in the streets or when the weather was not very good.About that cause, they thought a way for do surf, but in the street.The first prototype of the first skate was just a surfboard but with wheels.With this prototype, the magazines began to publish photos, information and more thingsabout the skateboarding and thanks to that, the skateboarding began to be more famousin America.In Spain, the first skates was seen in 1960, and the first skate was made by the industrySancheski in 1966. That was the beginning of skateboarding in Spain. The first city ofSpain that skateboarding became famous was in Madrid, and later, in Barcelona and Pais

Basco.

PARTS OF THE SKATE

The Deck: Its made of Canadian maple, or oak and, normally, have 7 or 8-ply wood. Thesize of the actually decks are more or less 7 or 10.5 inches (17 and 26 centimetres).The deck have a grip tape for do tricks and for hold on to the feet. Without grip tape, wecan fall down.The trucks: The trucks are used to do grinds* and turns.The grinds are tricks that are made with one or two trucks, which are subject to rails orcurbs.The wheels: Are 4, and are made of urethane. The size are different in function of thestyle that you want to do. Inside the wheels, we have 8 bearings ( 2 in each wheel) andthanks to that, the wheels can spin.

DIFFERENT STYLES FOR DO SKATEBOARDINGThe skateboarding have 2 different styles that we can do:Street: As its names says, the street style consist in do tricks in somewhere in the street:rails, stairs, curbs... For learn skate, its important find some places that the floor is smooth,because if the floor is not smooth, we can't move good.

Also, we can practise the skate in skateparks, because, obviously, they are madespecifically for skate. In skatepark we have rails, stairs, bowls and more things.The other style, its called ramp or old school, that consists in practice the skateboardingin bowls and half pipe. For this style, we need to have a big size (like 8 or 10 inches) and abig wheels, because are more comfortable and safe.

WAYS TO MOVE WITH SKATE

We can move with skate with 2 different form, called, regular and goofy.The regular persons puts the left foot in the deck, and with the right foot drives.And the goofy person its opposite, right foot in the deck, and left foot to drive and control

the skate.
