You will need to use the key vocabulary with the children. For example, point at a cup and ask them “is this cup full, half full or empty?” Key vocabulary to practice Full, empty, half full, Capacity. Open ended question to ask your child:

Click here for zoo animals You will need to encourage the children to hold their pencils in a pincer grip. Then demonstrate to the children how to draw the animal. Extend your child’s thinking skills by asking them open ended questions. Open ended questions to ask your child:

- Can you tell me about that animal?

Key vocabulary to practise:

• Animals • Write • Draw • Pencil • pincer grip • colour

What you will need: - Sticks - Flowers - Grass - Rubber bands

What you need to do: Making nature paint brushes is easy: Simply attach a piece of nature to each stick using an elastic band or a piece of string. TOP TIP: To avoid breaking your pieces of nature put the elastic bands onto the sticks first and then slide your pieces of nature onto the bands. Make sure the elastic bands aren't too tight! Model this to your child and allow them to help. This will help them with their gross motor skills Now Let’s Paint!

What will you need • Fruit • labels
