I am thrilled to present the 2015 Silversea Expeditions

voyages. Our three purpose built expedition ships will

offer a worldwide schedule of 102 voyages, visiting

more than 500 destinations on 7 continents, including

50 new ports of call.

Venture to the remote regions of our extraordinary

planet. Our expert, specially selected expedition

teams accompany each of our expeditions to

far-fl ung lands. Each one of our staff is selected to

enhance the destination experience and may include

marine biologists, ornithologists, polar historians,

glaciologists and anthropologists bringing the

voyage to life with information.

In 2015 aboard Silver Discoverer, guests will have the

opportunity to visit the thousands of islands that are

Southeast Asia as well as Micronesia, Melanesia and

Polynesia. In the Russian Far East we will witness the

spectacle of the summer bird migrations, and search

for Brown bear on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The

Sub-Antarctic voyages will visit one of the most diverse

pelagic ecosystems in the world, spending two days

with King penguins and Elephant seals on Macquarie

Island and majestic albatross on Campbell Island.

The glorious Kimberley region in Western Australia will

reveal unique landscapes whilst we learn about the

indigenous people.

Marvel at the wonders of the great white continent,

Antarctica, and see the King of the Arctic – the

magnifi cent Polar bear. Join us in spotting Blue-footed

boobies in the Galápagos Islands, Howler monkeys

and Scarlet macaws in Central and South America,

or be fascinated by cultural groups few people have

ever met. Join us.conrad combrinkDirector Expedition Planning

For modern-day explorers, Antarctica represents the final frontier. Experience the stark beauty of the southern polar

region and its unique wildlife on an expedition cruise. With its strengthened hull, Silver Explorer is purpose-built for

adventure, pushing through ice floes to allow uninterrupted views of mighty glaciers, iceberg-strewn waters, sunbathing

seals and breaching whales. A fleet of Zodiacs allows plenty of on-shore adventures too. Observe the behaviour of

penguins in their natural habitat while experiencing this pristine frosted wilderness first-hand.

Experience the Arctic Circle’s awe-inspiring wonders. Our Arctic cruises venture into remote regions at the top

of the world in search of walrus, reindeer, seals, whales, seabirds and, of course, the mighty Polar bear. As we

glide past towering glaciers and snow-capped mountains under the midnight sun, learn of Viking legends and

whaling history. Only accessible during the brief summer thaw, this intriguing yet unforgettable land will reveal

With impassable winter ice floes, the Sea of Okhotsk north of Japan remains one of the world’s least explored

yet most ecologically intriguing seas. The outlying Kuril Islands are a haven for seabirds, fur seals and sea lions.

On the Kamchatka Peninsula, the world’s largest Brown bears hunt for salmon. This geothermal wonderland

is also home to volcanoes, geysers, thermal springs and boiling mud. Several expeditions continue to the

Aleutians and the Alaska and Kenai peninsulas — among North America’s most inaccessible places. Others

head to Japan’s wildlife-rich islands and coastal Siberia.

AuSTRAL IA & NEW ZEALAND

These two expedition experiences couldn’t be more climatically different.

In northwest Australia, explore the untamed Kimberley. under endless blue skies,

gaze upon thundering waterfalls, soaring cliffs and ancient rock art. Explore tidal

channels that are home to Saltwater crocodiles and the famed Barramundi.

In New Zealand’s rarely visited Sub-Antarctic Islands, the scenery is equally

dramatic. Visit all five island groups, each with its own distinct biodiversity. See a

rare Yellow-eyed penguin, admire a Wandering albatross launching into flight and

listen to a bellowing sea lion staking his territory.

MICRONES IA, MELANES IA & POLYNES IA

A trio of truly stunning island chains strung out over the Pacific,

each archipelago offers its own remarkable culture and vivid

colours. Yap in Micronesia, and Vanuatu and New Guinea’s

outer islands in Melanesia, are home to some of Oceania’s

most traditional people whose lives are centred on gardens,

reefs, ocean and ancestors. Experience their exuberant,

ceremonial hospitality. Polynesia, immortalised by the French

artist Paul Gauguin, is a true paradise with some of the bluest

waters on earth. Snorkel and dive coral gardens, home to

many colourful fish.

Delve into the rainforests of Borneo, the last stronghold for creatures such

as the Pygmy elephant, the shy Borneo rhino and the orangutan. Sulawesi is

home to the Torajan people with their captivating villages, dramatic death

rituals and timeless traditions. With Indonesia considered the global epicentre

of marine biodiversity, the region is home to spectacular underwater wonders.

The Philippines is another underwater nirvana, containing not only coral reefs

and fascinating WWII wrecks but the Puerto Princesa underground river — one

of the “New Seven Wonders of Nature”.

GALÁPAGOS PRE- & POST-CRuISE LAND ADVENTuRES

Extend your Galápagos voyage with these Land Adventures. Offered before or after select voyages, these

excursions explore a region’s must-see destinations and include accommodation, porterage, transfers, sightseeing

and some meals.

lima, peru

amazon explorer

Pygmy marmosets, Howler monkeys, toucans — the

lowland forests of Peru’s Amazon Basin offer some of

the most exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities on

the planet. Journey to a destination where few travellers

have set foot. Travel in all-suite luxury aboard M/V

Aria, dining on perhaps the finest Amazonian-Peruvian

gourmet cuisine on the river. Learn about this amazing

ecosystem from expert naturalists as you cruise through

wild lands of unsurpassed beauty. This adventure also

includes an overnight stay and tour of Lima, Peru’s

colonial capital.

Six nights post-cruise

lake titicaca & puno

Journey into the Andes to Lake Titicaca, known as the

‘Sacred Waters of the Inca Empire’ and the highest

navigable lake in the world. Cruise to the floating

reed islands of the uros people with their centuries-

old way of life, and visit Taquile Island to admire the

ancient weaving traditions of the Quechua-speaking

Taquilenos. ‘Taquile and its Textile Art’ has been

proclaimed a “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible

Heritage of Humanity” by uNESCO. In Puno, visit the

Sillustani tombs, ingeniously designed chullpas (burial

towers) of the ancient Colla civilisation, before your

overnight and flight to Quito.

Four nights pre-cruise

machu picchu explorer

Begin your Galápagos expedition with the unmatched

splendour of Machu Picchu, the glorious ‘Lost City of

the Incas’ and one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the

World’. Set high in the Peruvian Andes amidst craggy

peaks and billowing clouds, this spectacular monument

of human achievement lay undiscovered until 1911.

Tours, overnights and flights from Lima to beautiful Cusco

and stunning Quito, plus a scenic roundtrip journey in

Peru’s Vistadome train are included in this unforgettable

land programme.

Four nights pre-cruise Three nights post-cruise

machu picchu Grande explorer

Similar to Machu Picchu Explorer, this enhanced land

programme, however, features a journey to Machu

Picchu aboard the legendary Hiram Bingham, one of

the top 10 rail journeys in the world. Travel in luxury in

exquisitely and meticulously restored Pullman cars and

enjoy brunch with live music as you travel through the

dramatic Andean scenery of the urubamba Valley.

Stay overnight at the famed Sanctuary Lodge, the only

hotel adjacent to Machu Picchu, allowing you to spend

additional time to explore the ancient Inca citadel with

fewer tourists.
