Collections, is a past president of the Society of Georgia Archivists, and Morna is on the board of the Georgia Archives Institute.

She is a member of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights’ LGBT Institute’s Programming Board, and serves as vice president of the Georgia LGBTQ Archives Project.

Morna has written two articles for MAC’s Archival Issues: “Putting the Georgia Women’s Movement Oral History Project on the Web: A Case Study in Collaboration and Innovation,” and “Engaging Communities: Public Programming in State Universities’ Special Collections and Archives.”

Floyd R. Davis, Jr., president and CEO of Community Link, is now celebrating his 15th year with the organization. Floyd Davis discovered his life’s work early in his career. After graduating from Norfolk State University with a B.S. in accounting and business administration, he joined IBM and later became controller at Model Cities in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Over a career spanning 50 years, Davis has served as president and CEO of United Community Centers and Family Services in Fort Worth, Texas. Before that he devoted more than two decades to working in United Way executive positions in Minneapolis, New York City, Miami and Flint, Michigan. North Carolina benefited from his expertise in the 1990s when he served as president and CPO of the United Way in Winston-Salem.

Carol King, program manager, Travelers Aid Chicago. Her Travelers Aid history began in 1976 at the ‘old’ Greyhound Bus Station in Chicago’s Loop. As a caseworker, she rotated between ‘Bus’, Union Train Station, and O’Hare Airport where services were offered. These public spaces provided a front line vantage point to observe changing social needs and diverse populations.

Carol saw an enduring connection between the early history of the Travelers Aid movement and current events and practices. Preserving and disseminating Travelers Aid Chicago’s past and present history has been a great source of pride for Carol who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary with Travelers Aid Chicago.

Carol has been a docent with the Chicago Architecture Foundation for over a decade. She conducts walking tours of historic and modern structures in downtown Chicago.

Edward Powers, Executive Director of Hope Atlanta, a position he has held since January, 1994.

Prior to his current position, he was the Country Director of the Pearl S. Buck Foundation’s programs in Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 1985 to 1992. From 1979 to 1983 he worked for the Department of State as a contractor at the U.S. Embassy Refugee Section in Bangkok, where he was the Vietnamese Resettlement Coordinator.

He is a Vietnam veteran, serving as an Army interrogator in DaNang from 1971 to 1972. He holds a BA degree in Asian Studies from the University of Illinois and an MBA degree from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

real estate, when she became a passionate participant in the fight to reduce homelessness while working for Progressive Redevelopment, Inc. In 1998, Carol returned to school to study social work and ultimately earned a PhD in social work from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Collard has worked for more than 20 years in supportive housing and in grappling with the complex issues that can result in homelessness. Her combined expertise has given her the ability to operate a nonprofit agency with a caring heart and a mind for business.

At CaringWorks, which she co-founded, she oversees a 40-member staff that operates supportive housing programs across Metro Atlanta.

TUESDAY2:30 - 3:15 Effects of Stress on People in CrisisChastain J Matt Hurd, Director, Open Doors, a nonprofit that recruits companies with professionally managed

properties willing to rent to veterans, families, and individuals in need of affordable housing. Working with skilled case managers employed by the best non-profit agencies in Metro Atlanta, Open Doors connects property managers to service providers working providing financial assistance and ongoing support to households.

Matt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the fields of behavioral health and supportive housing for the past 15 years, predominantly in the Georgia Community Service Board system.

A native of Florida, Matt earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and Non-Profit Management from Florida State University.

Therese Andrews, the Executive Director for Travelers Aid of the Inland Empire, is responsible for planning and administering programs, services, policies, resources and community outreach for the 80 volunteers at the Ontario International Airport.

She has had 30 years of public relations experience coordinating marketing departments, managing program budgets, wedding coordinating and developing and organizing volunteer programs. She has served in a consulting and advisory capacity for special events, corporate meetings, seminars and banquets.

Cathryn Marchman, Executive Director, Partners for H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities Made for Everyone), leads this independent nonprofit working to secure private and public funds and coordinate homelessness efforts in Atlanta. Marchman is a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed attorney who served most recently as the Legal, Policy and Compliance Officer for Saint Joseph’s Health System in Atlanta. Simultaneously, Marchman served as the Behavioral Health Coordinator for Mercy Care, Inc., and prior to these jobs, served as the Program Director for City of Refuge, a homeless shelter located on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard in Atlanta.

Steve Mayers, the director of customer experience and ADA coordinator at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, oversees the guest experience, ADA administration, volunteer and nonprofit programs, and team member development.

With more than 25 years of hospitality experience, Mayers has held leadership positions in some of the world’s leading hospitality companies, including Sandals Resorts, Radisson and Best Western Hotels & Resorts.

A Certified Hotel Administrator, Steve is a graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business and its School of Tourism and Hospitality Management..

WEDNESDAY9 - 9:45 Human Trafficking: Volunteer TrainingChastain J Nancy Rivard, president, Airline Ambassadors International, founded the organization to

provide for assistance to orphans and vulnerable children. Airline Ambassadors is the only non-profit leveraging connections with the airline industry to facilitate humanitarian efforts, and recognized by the U.S. Congress and the United Nations.

A former flight attendant for American Airlines, under Nancy’s leadership the group has hand-delivered over $60 million of aid to children in 62 countries in orphanages, clinics and remote communities. Members have assisted over 500,000 children, escorted over 1,000 children in need and trained over 5,000 front line travel industry personnel in human trafficking awareness.

Organized in Chronological Order — Greater Details Available at www.travelersaid.org/2017-annual-conference/Continued Donna Hubbard, employed as a flight attendant for a major airline, is a survivor advocate and

certified trainer in the fight against human trafficking with Airline Ambassadors International. Most recently, she assisted in the training of airline and airport personnel in anticipation of the January 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.

Donna, who has served 10 years in jails and prisons, was paroled in 1992 to Atlanta, where she founded the Woman at the Well Transition Center. Since 1994, Woman at the Well Transition Center has assisted more than 5,000 women and girls in pre-release, on-site and post-release programs.

Ordained in 1995, Pastor Donna Hubbard earned her B.S. in Theological Studies and an M.S. in Christian Counseling at PCIE Seminary Program, Los Angeles.

Barry Hirsch, Professor of Economics and W.J. Usery, Jr. Chair of the American Workplace, at Georgia State University, is an applied labor economist whose research focuses on wage determination in U.S. labor markets.

His work includes the study of union effects on economic performance and wages, survey nonresponse and imputation methods in government surveys, human capital, discrimination, area wage differentials, and specific labor markets (airlines, trucking, U.S. Postal Service, nursing, teachers, veterans).

Tony Medina, volunteer manager, Travelers Aid Chicago, joined the Travelers Aid family in November 2013 as a Social Service Supervisor and has lead the volunteer program since October 2015.

Tony has forged a deep connection with the Immigrant and Refugee community in Chicago. Through these connections he enjoys exploring other cultures via food, film and music.

Moving Forward – Evolving Travelers Aid in the Years to Come

Chastain J Eric R. Wright is a 2nd Century Initiative Professor of Sociology and Public Health and Chair of the Sociology Department at Georgia State University. He holds a B.A. in sociology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and an M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Indiana University Bloomington. As a medical sociologist, his research interests center on social and public policy responses to mental health and illness, substance use and addictions, sexual health, and HIV/STI prevention. In addition, Dr. Wright has extensive experience in working with community organizations as well as local and state governments to better understand community health needs.

WEDNESDAY12:15 - 1:30 Closing PresentationChastain H Barbara Harrison serves as Director of External Affairs, Strategic Partnerships and Programs at the

Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. Her responsibilities include enhancing external relations, developing corporate relationships and strategic program initiatives for The King Center. She works with the organization’s internal and external year-round programs and events to support the philosophy and legacy of Dr. King.

Her work includes networking to create and advance new coalitions that strengthen outreach programs targeted to youth, community supporters and potential national donors.

During her tenure of 30 plus years, she’s served as a facilitator and trainer for The King Center’s Summer Institute on Nonviolence and later became a certified Kingian Nonviolence trainer with the program.

She is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and graduate of Tuskegee University.
