the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. Twelve artists were shortlisted to take part in the final
event of Surrey Artists Open Studios 2011. Glass art was represented by Jane Bohane and
myself. The public and a panel of selected expert judges voted for their favourite exhibitor.
The winning artist is Stuart Stanley, a painter, while the second prize went to Linda Walsh, a
textile artist. I am glad that contemporary glass art did so well in this year's competition. I
was wondering if you could include this piece of news in your November newsletter. I'm
hoping that glass artists working further afield would feel pleased to hear about a fellow
