ISSUE A refuse processing plant in Kent was suffering from poor air quality and high temperatures internally. The EHO would not allow untreated extraction to outside due to the high odour intensity within the building. SOLUTION Exeon designed and installed an odour extraction system with extract grills located as closely as possible to the particulate source for maximum removal. This enabled the air change rate to be reduced to 3 (from the suggested 4) which has the dual benet of lower energy consumption and less heat loss. Air quality was drastically improved following the installation, both in regards to temperature and air particulate. The extracted air was ltered before discharge, to remove both odour and particulate. The lter unit succeeded in removing both 99% + of particulate and also complying with the maximum odour limits level as stipulated by the EHO. ISSUEA refuse processing plant in Kent was suffering from

poor air quality and high temperatures internally. The

EHO would not allow untreated extraction to outside

due to the high odour intensity within the building.

SOLUTIONExeon designed and installed an odour extraction

system with extract grills located as closely as

possible to the particulate source for maximum

removal. This enabled the air change rate to be

reduced to 3 (from the suggested 4) which has the

dual benet of lower energy consumption and less

heat loss.

Air quality was drastically improved following the

installation, both in regards to temperature and air

particulate.

The extracted air was ltered before discharge, to

remove both odour and particulate. The lter unit

succeeded in removing both 99% + of particulate

and also complying with the maximum odour limits

level as stipulated by the EHO.
