CANADA’S MOST RESPECTED EXECUTIVE MBA
PERSONALIZED FOR YOU
At Queen’s, we recognize that everyone comes into the program with different talents and skills, a variety
of experiences, and their own aspirations. It stands to reason that a “one size fits all” approach is simply
impractical. With that in mind, Queen’s has developed a powerful new approach to learning that
incorporates a level of personalization and customization that cannot be found in other executive MBA
programs. You will leave the program with a clear understanding of your strengths, well-thought-out career
goals, and the tools to achieve them.
3QUEEN’S EXECUTIVE MBA
PERSONALIZATIONThe concept of personalization is evident across all aspects of the
Queen’s Executive MBA program. Personal Development Coaching begins

program, you will have the opportunity to pursue one of three strategic
electives based on your career aspirations. You will also have the option

that recognizes and promotes the importance of physical, mental and
emotional well-being.

tool that enables you to identify your individual strengths and weaknesses. You will then work
one-on-one with an experienced Personal Development Coach to better understand, maximize,
and capitalize on your strengths. Our approach is based on the belief that peak performance can
best be achieved by focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses.

PROGRAM STRUCTUREAND CONTENT
INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM
THE POWER OF TEAMSWhile most executive MBA programs tout the importance of teamwork, Queen’s
Executive MBA is one of a select few that assigns participants to teams for
the duration of the program.
Queen’s team-based learning approach creates a supportive and collaborative
environment that mirrors today’s workplace. Team members work together on
assignments and projects, greatly enhancing the learning experience. This
approach provides valuable opportunities for each participant to develop and
hone critical team and leadership skills while in the program. Furthermore, it
provides the opportunity to learn not only from your professors, but also from
your teammates and classmates.
Queen’s provides dedicated Team Facilitators who work with the teams, leading
them through team-building and teamwork-enhancing exercises. They maintain
close contact throughout the program to ensure that teams continue to operate
efficiently and effectively.
Participants in the program are required to complete two major projects:
the team-based Global Business Project, and one of two individual projects –
either the New Venture Project or the Management Consulting Project.
GLOBAL BUSINESS PROJECTThe Global Business Project is a team project that provides real-world
international business experience. Your team will complete a comprehensive
analysis of a real global business issue or opportunity anywhere in the
world outside of the U.S. and Canada. To complete this “live case”, your
team will travel to the international location to interview business managers
and conduct field research prior to writing your final report. This provides
an outstanding opportunity to put all that you have learned into practice.
The program covers travel and accommodation costs for the Global Business
Project up to $4,000 per person.
MAJOR PROJECTS
MANAGEMENT CONSULTING PROJECTThe objective of this individual project is to analyze a business challenge and develop a
comprehensive set of recommendations and implementation plans to address it. Participants
are given a wide scope in the nature of the project. Typically projects focus on performance
improvements in operating processes, supply chain management, customer service, information
systems, profit margin improvement, or the business planning process. Each participant
will be assigned a Project Advisor.
OR
NEW VENTURE PROJECTThe objective of this individual project is to create a business case and comprehensive business
plan for a new stand-alone business, or a new line of business in an existing organization.
The New Venture Project will give you an opportunity to use the management concepts and tools you
have acquired in the program to create a business plan for a new venture. You will identify market
opportunities, investigate business potential, consider financing options, and create a business plan.
Each participant will be assigned a Project Advisor.
