Thank YOU for making 2019 one of Manos de Cristo’s best years yet! Wewitnessed our donors, volunteers, students and clients come together tochange lives and be a part of positive change as a whole. We have a lot to be proud of, with 31 years of service to Central Texas. Here are a few important highlights from 2019:
Dental Center: Manos continues to be one of the few low-cost Dental Centersin Austin, offering oral health care services to both under and uninsured individuals. The Dental Center served over 18,000 patients in 2019!
Emergency Food & Clothing Center: We collaborated with local area churcheswho donated over 1,530 bags of groceries. Total donations included over 13,000 pounds of food! In 2019, Manos became the recipient of a donor funded and donor built Community Garden. Our Basic Needs clients benefi ted from our freshly grown seasonal herbs, fruits and vegetables.
Education Program: For the third year in a row, the Manos Education programexpanded. We offer classes at Manos and at several satellite locations. In 2019,our new GED in Spanish was implemented and was a great success. We continue to offer ESL, Computer, Citizenship and Spanish Literacy classes at our main campus. With your help, we can keep expanding and teaching more adult learners.

You will fi nd adult learners from all over the world in our educationclasses. Manos de Cristo studentswork hard in their English as a Second Language, Computer Literacy, Citizenship and Spanish Literacy classes. In 2019, we began offering GED classes in Spanish to provide students the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency certifi cate. With the help of our instructors, our students are achieving various personal goalssuch as becoming United StatesCitizens, fi nishing their primary andsecondary studies, and improvingtheir English language and computer skills. Our students work hard to make positive changes in their lives and create new opportunities for their families in our community.
EDUCATION
BASIC NEEDS The Food Pantry provides individuals and families with a week’s worth of groceries and our clothes closet provides clothing to families in need. With these life essentials, our clients are able to stretch their budgets to cover other necessities. Donations from individuals, churches, and organizations help stock our shelves.

BACK-TO-SCHOOLThe Back-to-School program ensures that children in grades Pre-K through 5 start the school year prepared, regardless of their economic background. During the program, each child works with a volunteer and receives a new backpack, two new outfi ts, socks, underwear, and school supplies.
