We do have a banquet on Saturday evening that will offer dinner. In the

invite area chapter representatives or members to attend. At the current time we
are allowing for 50 people for the banquet.

Two templates were emailed to those having Independent Contractors
reporting to them. Those individuals are the President, VP of Finance, VP of

templates were of the most recent with Robert Petzke and the additional template
was the one that the lawyer had proposed. I did remove the insurance requirements

and those VP’s will need to complete a Statement of Work, Term, Description of
Services, Deliverables, Milestones, Schedule of Services, Compensation and
Expenses Covered.

VP Fisheries & Research, Jim
Moore Kathy Goon has issued checks to Chapters receiving Gil Hamm Fund grants for
the 2019 season.
Financial Statement from Edward Jones for the Gil Hamm Fund shows a closing
balance of $131,808.51 as of 10-26-18. This is down from $134,637.58 a month
ago. Most of this downturn is from this last quarter (especially October) which
showed an overall drop of -6.48% for the quarter.
Jim Moore spent Tuesday October 30 on East Lynn Lake in southern WV with
WV DNR personnel electroshocking the lake as part of a muskie survey.
Jim Moore spent Thursday November 1 at Bowden Fish Hatchery near Elkins,
WV with WV DNR personnel draining ponds and retrieving advanced muskie
fingerlings. These fish were of the Chautauqua strain and were stocked into
Stonecoal Lake.
Nothing else to report.
An interesting side note:
In 2013, Ohio DNR developed a plan to monitor suspected fish escapement from
four (4) stocked lakes in Ohio. It seemed apparent during high water episodes
some loss of stocked fish was happening. Four (4) lakes were selected to study;
Clear Fork, Salt Fork, Leesville and Alum Creek. Since then, all advanced
fingerlings stocked in the fall are PIT tagged and monitoring devices were located
downstream from the dam and overflow areas to determine movement out.
![Page 8: Executive Committee Phone Conference Meeting X - Indicates ... · 12/11/2018 · Tempia Courts Update with filing of the 501c3 ... forwarded to the Corporate Secretary and at that](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022050602/5fa9f000e197a62c6454115e/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Anglers are also equipped with PIT Tag Readers to monitor catches during outings
for growth and statistical information. External tags were also attached in the
2013 and 2014 stockings.
In August of this year, an angler caught a 35 inch tagged fish in the Little
Muskingum River in SE Ohio, a tributary of the Ohio River. He contacted the OH
DNR with the tag information and discovered that the fish had been stocked into
Salt Fork Lake in 2014. At that time it was a 10 inch long advanced fingerling.
Since that time it had grown 25 inches, escaped Salt Fork Lake and moved down a
small stream several miles into the Big Muskingum River. From that point it
proceeded to move downstream through that river system passing through several
small lock and dam systems into the Ohio River at Marietta, OH. Not stopping
here, it turned left and moved about three miles upstream in the Ohio and then
entered the Little Muskingum River and moved a few miles upstream there. Quite
a traveler, the DNR estimated the fish had traveled nearly 150 miles during that 4
year period.

Muskies, Inc.
Any member sending a Muskie picture to Muskies, Inc. agrees to its use in MUSKIE magazine or on the Muskies,
Inc. website.
No Polaroid’s. The quality does not meet the standards for the website or the magazine.
The Muskie picture must be of an entry entered in the Lunge Log or in the process of doing so.
Pictures of released Muskies must be held in a horizontal position in, on or in close proximity of the water. Members
should take care during pictures to limit the amount of time the Muskie is out of the water.
During the season when we have very warm
temperatures, the safety of the Muskie becomes more important than the multiple pictures and the typical member gets the best one available and returns the
Muskie to the water as quickly as possible.
The photo must show the angler who caught the Muskie. Another person may hold the Muskie, in the case of small
children or members physically unable to hold the fish. In this case, that person must also be identified.
Do not write on the back of the picture with a pen or pencil. Use a soft point marker. Members may use a “post
it” and attach it to the back of the picture or a separate piece of paper.
Muskies, Inc. needs the following information with each picture submitted:
Member’s name and Lunge Log fish ID number
Length of Muskies Girth if available. Date of catch.
Body of water where caught. Include special notes. First Muskie, largest to date, event
winner, etc. Muskies, Inc. accepts most pictures. However, please
refrain from sending every catch of the year if you are a member who catches dozens throughout the season.
Members Only Fishing Contest Committee, April 11, 2002

MembersMMembers are encouraged to minimize the
amount of time fish are out of the water for photographs.
Photos of released Muskies which appear overly stressed
in the judgment of the editorial staff will not be published
(this includes photos which indicate significant bleeding).
Photo submissions must include the following:
Name of the photographer and names of other key individuals in the photo. In the case of chapter or group photos please identify the group. If the

to hold the Muskie by themselves. Please include any other special information, such
as: first Muskie caught, personal best, event winner, or special circumstances.
The majority of Muskie photos which are published within
MUSKIE Magazine should serve to reinforce the catch and
release philosophy of Muskies, Inc. However, MUSKIE
Magazine will consider occasional publication of photos of
large Muskies which were legally harvested by Muskies,
Inc. members and which were submitted to the Lunge
Log, or are of historic significance.

Photos which include fish will only be considered for the
cover of MUSKIE Magazine if they show Muskies which
have been successfully released and are good examples of
current catch and release handling practices.
MUSKIE Magazine will not publish artwork that displays
Muskies in conditions or positions which are not
compatible with these photo guidelines or which depict
scenes that may present a detrimental public image of
Muskies or of Muskies, Inc.

activities or muskies in conditions or positions which are not compatible with
these photo guidelines or which depict scenes that may present a detrimental
public image of muskies or of Muskies Inc.
- Muskies Inc. promotes catch and release, and the majority of images
featuring muskies should reinforce this catch and release philosophy:
o Images of muskies in the water are preferred.
o Fish-friendly holds are required when a muskie is shown out of the
water. This involves a horizontal or near-horizontal fish position with
the weight fully supported.
o Fish should appear healthy, without heavy bleeding or other signs of
high stress.
o Legally harvested muskies are permissible only if they are of historic
significance.
- Images should feature only the activities of Muskies Inc. members and
chapters.
o Pictures should be of Muskies Inc. members, or be taken by a
Muskies Inc. member
o Reports and pictures of activities that go beyond fishing are
encouraged.
o To encourage the use of the Lunge Log, images of fish that have
been entered in the log will be favored over those that have not
been entered in the log.
o Images submitted by non-member authors in support of articles in
MUSKIE magazine are governed by the author agreement
Members are encouraged to submit pictures for use by Muskies Inc. in order to
highlight member and chapter activities, promote muskie fishing and Muskies
Inc., and to share recent or interesting catches. Any member submitting an
image agrees to allow Muskies Inc. to determine its best use. Due to the number
of images received, not all photos submitted to Muskies Inc. will be used.

Muskies Inc. staff will decide on which images are used on various platforms.
Member submissions should be sent to: [email protected] or submitted
directly using the portal on the Muskies Inc. website. For quality purposes,
submit the image in the highest possible resolution without shrinking, resizing,
or editing/processing. If an electronic version of the picture is not available,
contact [email protected] for guidance in submitting a physical copy.
The following information should be included with all submitted images:
- name and chapter affiliation of people in the picture (or of the person who
took the picture)
- date of the catch or event
- size of the fish
- Lunge Log fish identification number, if entered
- brief description: lake or general region, lure, technique
- special notes such as: first muskie, personal best, chapter event, etc.
Rationale for Proposed Changes:
The current photo policies are redundant, difficult to read, and out-of-date with current
technology and practices. For example, they include a prohibition against submitting
Polaroid pictures and advise against writing on the back of the photograph.
Benefit of Proposed Changes:
Provides for a single policy that is comprehensive, more understandable and accessible,
and reflects the use of modern technology.
Financial Impact:
None.
