POPULAR ATTRACTIONS

THE SHARD

Open for the first time in Feb 2013, the Shard in Central London is the tallest building in Western Europe being over a thousand feet high. Restaurants, offices, hotels and London’s highest viewing gallery where you can view London like never before – 360 degree views of the city. Travel to the top of the Shard in a high speed ‘kaleidoscopic’ lift which will build anticipation!

MADAME TUSSAUDS

Millions of people have flocked through the doors of Madame Tussauds since they first opened over 200 years ago and it remains just as popular as it ever was. Mingle with your favourite celebrity wax figures at one of London's most famous attractions.

LONDON EYE

Night or day The London Eye offers spectacular views of London from high above the River Thames. Famous landmarks to be seen include Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. .

TOWER OF LONDON

The Tower’s primary function was a fortress, royal palace and a prison, particularly for high status and royal prisoners, such as the Princes in the Tower and the future Queen Elizabeth the 1st. It has also served as a place of execution and torture, an armoury, a treasury, a zoo, the Royal Mint, a public records office, an observatory, and since 1303, the home of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom.

TOWER BRIDGE EXHIBITON

This world famous, iconic bridge has an exhibition within the two towers. To get to the towers you walk along high level walkways where you will get splendid views of London. Visit the Victorian Engine Room, photos, holograms and a film about the building. Learn about the changes in river traffic over the years as well as the construction of the bridge.

ST PAULS CATHEDERAL

St Paul’s Cathedral sits on top of the highest point in the City of London. It is world famous, designed by architect Sir Christopher Wren. Internally, the cathedral is designed in the shape of a cross. The Dome is 111m high and you can climb to the top. At the top of the dome you’ll find the Whispering Gallery which runs around the interior of the dome.

LONDON ZOO

ZSL London Zoo has almost 750 species of animal, from the smallest monkey to the tallest giraffe. A day at London Zoo offers the ultimate back to nature experience and supports the active conservation of many amazing species. Get first-hand experience of over 600 species of amazing animals including lions, tigers, primates, giraffes and many, many more.

LONDON AQUARIUM

The SEA LIFE London Aquarium is home to one of Europe’s largest collections of global marine life and the jewel in the crown of the 28 SEA LIFE attractions in the UK and Europe. Situated in the heart of London, the experience takes visitors on an immersive and interactive journey along the Great Oceanic Conveyor.

LONDON DUNGEON

Visit the London Dungeon and enjoy scary rides & terrifying live shows at the most gruesome attraction in London. LONDON EYE RIVER CRUISE

Why not combine your visit to the London Eye with a River Cruise? Before or after your flight, enjoy a unique 40 minute circular sightseeing cruise on the River Thames with fascinating live commentary that brings the city to life, presented by specialist guides. The River Cruise departs from the London Eye Millennium Pier, adjacent to the London Eye.

RIVER CRUISE

What a fabulous way to explore London’s main sights and landmarks. See and experience the splendour of this great city from the relaxed comfort of a modern, purpose-built, all-weather, wheelchair-friendly, City Cruises sightseeing boat. You will learn all about the city with the informative commentary which may include a few colourful local stories. The river cruise will travel either from Tower to Westminster Pier or Tower to Greenwich Pier.

GLOBE THEATRE

Based under the Globe, this engaging and informative exhibition explores the life of Shakespeare. A fascinating guided tour inside the theatre reveals the story of its reconstruction and gives an exciting insight into the working life of the Globe.

THEATRE SHOWS

Seeing a West End show is a very popular tourist activity in London’s “Theatreland”, with over 13 million spectators per year. Along with New York's Broadway, West End theatre is considered to represent the highest level of commercial theatre in the English speaking world.

WEST-END WORKSHOP

We work with a variety of well-established companies who can provide workshops relating to a specific West End show you are seeing. It is possible to arrange a short Q&A with a current or ex-cast member to get an insider’s view behind the scenes of your favourite show (Subject to availability)

NATIONAL THEATRE BACKSTAGE TOUR

Come and see what’s happening behind the scenes at the National Theatre, on a fantastic backstage tour! With twenty new shows produced here each year, your tour is bound to be unique – have the opportunity to watch rehearsals and prop and costume making!

MUSEUMS

THE CLINK PRISON MUSEUM

The Clink Prison Museum is built upon the original site of the Clink Prison. The Prison dates back to 1144 making it one of England’s oldest prisons. Visitors will experience a hands-on educational experience allowing them to handle original artefacts, including torture devices, as well as the opportunity to view and hear the amazing stories of the inmates.

N.B. There is a 45 minute guided tour available, minimum group size of 10.

LONDON FILM MUSEUM

Discover the magic behind the movies. The London Film Museum is the only museum of film history and film making in the UK. It has been created with the backing of major studios, distributors and industry professionals. All groups of 15 people or more get a free guide for a tour of the museum, but if you wanted a more structured workshop they can arrange a film making class with one of their qualified coaches. Please allow 2 hours for your visit.

LONDON FASHION & TEXTILE MUSEUM

The London Fashion and Textile Museum is a cutting edge centre for contemporary fashion, textiles and jewellery in London. Founded by iconic British designer Zandra Rhodes. The centre houses permanent and changing exhibitions.

MUSEUM OF BRANDS, PACKAGING AND ADVERTISING

Featuring 12,000 original items of packaging through the ages this is a fabulous history of everything relating to design, packaging, marketing, advertising and branding. Lots of fantastic worksheets available online.

THEME PARKS

CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES (SURREY)

With exciting rides & rollercoasters, a Zoo, SEA LIFE Centre and Safari Themed Hotel - Chessington really is Britain’s Wildest Adventure Park. Discover the ancient ruins of Wild Asia, a new and mythical land where groups can take on the KOBRA, an awesome new spinning disc ride! Also, go truly wild on an expedition through the Lorikeet Lagoon in amongst the exotic colourful birds.

THORPE PARK (STAINES)

With over 30 rides, THORPE PARK is the place to get your adrenaline pumping! There is an array of educational resources aimed at Key Stage 3 and 4 available for teachers as well as workshops.

Uniquely themed venues like Rainforest Cafe provide a fun and lively alternative to the usual options available, with everyone generally relaxing more and enjoying the experience and unique surroundings which all add to the creative "wow" factor of the occasion.

PLANET HOLLYWOOD

Planet Hollywood, the world’s one and only dining experience inspired by the glamour of Hollywood, was launched in New York on 22nd October 1991. This innovative restaurant chain was launched with the backing of Hollywood megastars Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Demi Moore.

Enjoy a two or three course meal at one of the UK’s best pub chains. You can choose from 4 London locations: Just off Leicester Square; Hanover Street (near Regent Street); By the London Eye; By Victoria Station.

HARD ROCK CAFE

Standing on Old Park Lane since June 14th 1971, this is the one that started it all. The brainchild of Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, the cafe attracted customers from day one with first-rate, but moderately priced, casual American fare (available no-where else in London or the UK at the time), warm service and ubiquitous Rock 'n' Roll music and sensibility - Hard Rock Cafe London became an instant classic.

PACKED LUNCHES

Save time and money by pre-booking your lunch with us. We can organise packed breakfast boxes or lunches for all pupils. Included in breakfast box is: cereal with milk pots, juice, dried fruits, croissant, jam, Nutria Grain bars. Lunch includes: roll, crisps, piece of fresh fruit, a muffin or slice of cake, bottled water.

This museum is the greatest museum of art and design. Sculptures, art, costumes, glass, jewellery, textiles – you name it!

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

70 million items are on show at this huge museum in London. Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and zoology! The museum is best known for its comprehensive exhibition of dinosaurs.

MARITIME MUSEUM AND GREENWICH OBSERVATORY

Discover 500 years of Britain's encounters with the world at sea. Explore the collection and see the uniform Nelson wore at the Battle of Trafalgar, steer a ship into port and fire a cannon in our Maritime galleries. Follow this with a visit to The Royal Observatory Greenwich- the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian of the World. It is also home to London's only planetarium, the Harrison timekeepers and the UK's largest refracting telescope.

TATE MODERN

A stunning modern art gallery housed in an old power station, showing world famous contemporary and modern artworks. Wonderful views along the River Thames from its many balconies.

TATE BRITAIN

Tate Britain houses the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day. See Turner Prize winners, see Hockneys, Rossettis, Turners.

NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY

This world-famous museum houses portraits of noted Britons from the Tudors to the present day.

NATIONAL GALLERY

The National Gallery, London houses one of the greatest collections of European painting in the world. These pictures belong to the public and entrance to see them is free. The National Gallery's permanent collection spans the period from about 1250 to 1900 and consists of Western European paintings

BANK OF ENGLAND MUSEUM

The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. Sometimes known as the 'Old Lady' of Threadneedle Street, the Bank was founded in 1694, nationalised on 1 March 1946, and gained independence in 1997. Standing at the centre of the UK's financial system, the Bank is committed to promoting and maintaining monetary and financial stability as its contribution to a healthy economy

WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL

Westminster Cathedral in London is the mother church of the Catholic community in England and Wales and the Metropolitan Church and Cathedral of the Archbishop of Westminster. The cathedral is located in Victoria, SW1, in the City of Westminster. It is the largest Catholic church in England and Wales, and should not be confused with Westminster Abbey of the Church of England.
