Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing, the term given to any service given via Internet (the “Cloud”), will be very popular for the next decade and more and more small & medium businesses are expected to consume the applications, utilities and the infrastructure provided.
Green ITMany global IT players are about to unveil their green IT initiatives and enforce them in their organizations, this decade. This includes usage of e-documents, zero-paper-office initiatives, reduction in travel and encouraging tele-presence, usage of carbon free raw materials for production of chips and other PC parts etc.
Mobile Maturity
Right from the beginning of 21st century, the sales and usage of smartphones are on the rise. Thanks to high end chip manufacturers, for they have enabled such splendid advancements. As the new decade unfolds, more and more users will use Smartphones and have access to email and all other applications online through smartphones.
Bio-InterfacesThe convergence of technologies like IT, nanotechnology, biotechnology and neurotechnology are likely to lead to highly sophisticated bio-interfaces. Expect to see advances in sensors that plug into the brain, prosthetic limbs that are controlled from the brain, and even implants that directly interface with the brain.
NootropicsDrugs to enhance mental ability, referred as Nootropics are expected to find more use patterns this decade. More and more people are using these drugs to enhance their mental capabilities and increase their performance. Scientists, doctors and druggists all over the world bet big on the increase in usage of Nootropics this decade.
CosmeceuticalsCosmetics + Pharmaceuticals combined to form cosmeceuticals. Rather than beautifying their skin from outside, more people are adapting to cosmeceuticals, wherein they can look more fresher, younger and beautiful through the consumption of cosmeceuticals. Once it hits the market this decade, there is no doubt, it will have huge response from public.

This decade saw the birth of commercial space trips, it will keep increasing in number in the next decade. More and more people will be capable of spending for it and due to breakthrough in propulsion technology and energy efficient fuels, the space trips will see a reduction in price tags.

Automotive industry is already utilizing the semiconductors to the fullest potential. Upcoming decade will be filled with hyper-intelligent automotives equipped with automatic engine management, night vision, collision warning, park reverse assist, drive by wire, telematics, GPS etc.
Borderless BusinessAdvanced IT architecture enables companies to deliver services and applications to anyone, anywhere, on any device, at any time and to do it seamlessly, reliably and securely. Borderless businesses are embracing the use of video, collaborative applications and other networked services and delivering them across the enterprise, using technology that can more easily be managed and scaled.
3D – On Screens & At Home..3D technology has seen a revival and is expected to penetrate the market in a faster pace, this decade. Leading television manufacturers are already successful in designing their 3D TV and they will hit the market this decade. Theatrical movies like Toy Story 3D, Star Wars 3D etc. will be major 3D extravaganzas when they hit the screens and when they are out in Blu-Ray discs this decade.
Towards a Secure Future..
The home security market falls into two camps: the real monitoring services and the DIY kits form companies like D-Link. The Archerfish Solo is a hybrid because it has industrial-strength tech, recognizing the difference between a delivery person or an intruder, for example. No more explanations required to talk about a secure future.
