Noel Williamson as the new SYBA Executive Director. I believe he will be a wonderful leader for the churches and pastors. To help him with the transition, I want to take him to as many of the churches as possible to meet the congregations. Please be patient with him as you have been with me. Change is taking place. The wheels of progress turn slowly, but they certainly do keep turning. He must increase, and I must decrease as John the Baptist said about Jesus. It has been my joy and delight to serve as your Interim Executive Director. I love to pray and work with pastors. This Association is strong, and it can be much stronger. I want to encourage the churches to give regularly and sacrificially to support this Association and the new Executive Director. My hope and prayer is that the pastors will develop a buddy system/prayer partnerrelationship. They could pray over the phone and hold each other accountable. They could be a mentor to a young pastor, develop disciples, help plant new churches, and strengthen and revitalize existing churches. My heart wants to resolve conflict, reconcile broken relationships, and restore unity in the body of Christ. I really want us to be involved in mission impact and marketplace evangelism. If I can be used of God to help any of the churches in this process, I am as close as a phone call. I love you all and pray for you daily. - Dr. Michael Brown www.sybaptist.org 704-873-4372 [email protected] Baptist Center Hours: Monday-Thursday 9:00 am—4:00 pm OCTOBER 2017 October is Pastor Appreciation Month Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the Word and doctrine.1 Timothy 5:17 The work of your pastor(s) often goes unseen and unrecognized. SYBA Fair Ministry Thank you for your support and prayers for this year’s Fair Ministry. God’s eternal message was shared daily, and one worker made a decision to accept Christ as her Savior! Please be in prayer for her. There were 33 SYBA churches with over 200 on-site volunteers serving at the fair shelter.

The fair workers are always so appreciative of the gifts you give them. This year you gave: 900 meals, 64 hygiene bags, 19 free hair cuts, and quilts and clothing for 18 workers. Volunteers also assisted with 36 loads of laundry and 42 dryer loads.

Some churches have already committed to serve in 2018. If you want to provide and serve a particular meal, please contact Mary Jane Hoover at 704-873-4372 x3 or [email protected]. Fair dates for 2018 are: Thursday, Aug. 30, to Saturday, Sept. 8th.
