The 70-foot (21m) sailing yacht Maya is a custom blue water cruiser that offers comfort and safety in all sea conditions in any climate around the world. It wasdesigned by Naval architect Alan Warwick and built by the renowned McMullen & Wing in New Zealand. The yacht has five watertight bulkheads and heraluminum hull exceeds Det Nortske Veritas requirements. In 2014/2015, she underwent an extensive refit and received upgrades that included new oversizedNavtec rod rigging, improved electronics, complete service to her engines and much more. A vessel that can get you anywhere in comfort, safety and withexcellent performance.

Designer commentsThe brief for this build demanded a vessel for all seasons and all latitudes. Years of experience and detailed planning went into the execution of this muscularvoyager. With high latitude sailing on the agenda, reliability was a central theme of the project.Although enormous strength has been built into Maya, thoughtful design and careful weight distribution has ensured that this has not been at the expense ofperformance. The easily driven hull form is well balanced for power and seakindliness on all points of sail. This is a yacht that will reel off the miles day after dayin any conditions.
