Reviews of marking: centre-assessed marks
From 1 September 2017, candidates will be able to request a review of the results of
their centre-marked assessments from their own school or college

(NEA) and the Project qualifications
– It includes Art and Design timed exams
– As per the JCQ Notice to Centres (29 January 2018), it does apply to the Practical Skills
Endorsement for A Level Sciences and the Spoken Language Endorsement for GCSE (9-1) English
Language
– It does not apply to the GCSE (9-1) Science practical activities and the GCSE (9-1) Computer

GCSE (9-1) Computer Science: NEA
Between November and December 2017, Ofqual ran a consultation into the role of
non-examination assessment (NEA) in GCSE (9-1) Computer Science. The
consultation outcome was announced on 8 January 2018
• Assessment arrangements will change
• The NEA component will not count towards the final qualification grade in 2018
or 2019. Grades will be based on performance in exams alone
• Candidates are still required to complete one NEA ‘Programming’ task
• Revised basedata released 8 January 2018
