100% SCANNING IN CAMEROUN

Since 2016, Cameroun Customs operates a 100% scanning solution at the container terminal in the port of Douala.

Operations are performed by 3 fast scanners having each a capacity of: 150 scans/h Automatic container number recognition

All the containers are scan upon offloading from the vessel or when entering the terminal.

After the scan, containers are stored in the stacking area and port operation continue as usual.

This successful implementation is the result of a productive cooperation between all the actors of the port


100% SCANNING IN CAMEROUN

Right after the scan, scanning data are automatically stored on a secured server at disposal of Customs.

The entire process is management by a solution called SGS D-TECT.

With D-TECT the scanning step can be performed independently to the administrative process, making the 100% scanning scheme feasible.


MANAGE DIFFERENT SCANNING PROCESSES

D-TECT automatically associates the scan images of the containers with the customs declaration and other information such as vessel manifest, the clearing documents…

Associated data are used by Customs to control the conformity of the shipments.


AUTOMATED FEATURES

The application also offer the possibility to see the other containers / shipment associated to the same declaration / documentation, allowing the analysis of all a consignment at once.

Going for a high volume or 100% Scanning scheme brings the challenge of screening large amounts of images. The solution highlights identified risks by automatically comparing the Customs/Manifest Data and the information contained in the radiographic images
