SHOOT OUT AT THE O.K. HOSPITAL FOLLOWED BY A POLICE PURSUIT THAT

RESULTED IN PEOPLE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL. On August 19 a woman arrived

at Missouri Baptist Hospital for an appointment. Who should she see? It was her ex-

boyfriend, a repeat ex-convict Christian Burnett. She had a protection order against

Burnett, who was forbidden to be within a1000 feet of her. She was on foot and Burnett

tried to block her way and approached her three times. The last time she took out a

.380 pistol. She fired at him but missed. The sound of gunshots resulted in 9-1-1 calls

to the Town and Country Police. As they were arriving Burnett was speeding off the

MoBapt parking lot and a police pursuit started that ended in a crash with injuries in

Frontenac. Burentt fled on foot and was captured in the backyard of 23 Frontenac

Estates.

MORE STUPID TOWN AND COUNTRY RESIDENTS: When as a new police chief

James Cavins started putting up “lock it or lose it” signs around town I rolled my eyes.

Apparently there was a clear need. Also just as obvious was the fact that rich, well

educated people immediately began ignoring the signs. Another example was

overnight on Monday August 24 doorbell cameras recorded a person trying to gain entry

to autos in the Williamsburg and Kings Glen subdivisions.

The subject would go to the next car if a car was locked. He found several unlocked

that he rummaged through and he also found one brand new 2020 Toyota Highlander

on Cross Land in Kings Glen with the keys in it. He promptly stole the car. It was later

recovered parked in Ferguson.

I guess Kings Glen will win a Lock It of Lose It sign for the next month.

Town and Country residents were not the only stupid people and friends of criminals.

Look at the Chesterfield Police Blotter, where nine 9 unlocked cars were entered and

items stolen over last weekend. The Chesterfield car cloutings continued into the new

NEW OWNER LOSES PERMISSION FOR 600 SQ FOOT “ACCESSORY BUILDING”

WITH A 300 SQ FT PORCH. The Accessory Building has what appears to be a

garage door, but new homeowner Ben Mohrmann, 44, from Ladue claims it is to get

material and machines for his woodworking. The Accessory Building would be at a new

house Mohrmann is building at 929 Claymark Drive off of Clayton Road.

Originally Mohrmann claimed that sometime in the future he would build a pool and also

use the structure as a Pool House. He mentioned this several times at the Planning

and Zoning meeting. This created a problem as “pool houses” have to be approved

separately. Mohrmann claimed he has submitted no plans for a pool and there is no

pool, despite the fact he claimed at an earlier meeting there would be a pool.

Ironically the 3,200 50-year old house that Mohrmann bought in 2019 had a pool.

This is the modest house he is now building.

Things begin with Ald. Tiffany Frautschi making a motion that the Accessory Building

had to be at least 30 feet from a neighboring property line. Ald. Pam Holman had a

motion that Mohrmann could not use machinery and saws after 8pm in his woodshop.

Mohrman had no problems with this. But a third motion by Fritz Wiesehan was another

matter.

Fritz’s motion was that that no motor vehicle could be stored in the “Accessory Building”

Mohrman shouted into his microphone and it zoomed out. “That is completely out of

line!” At some point Mohrman also now stated the pool was several years away.

Concerning the “No Motor Vehicles in Structure,” that made a lot of sense. The

Accessory Building’s overhead door faces the street. Garage doors can not face the

street in most of Town and Country (except in the subdivision next to the Target Store

that to Mayor Dalton and former Alderman Fred Meyland-Smith.)

By claiming the door was for supplies for his woodworking. Mohrmann makes it

something other than a garage door. However now that he has gone bonkers about not

being able to store motor vehicles in the building, it is suddenly a garage and in violation

of the city code. It was clear that Mohrmann was lying about not using the building as a

garage. However three Aldermen did not care.

The vote on Wiesehan’s “no vehicle” motion was tied 3-3.

The next vote was to pass the Conditional Use Permit. Here is the vote:

It was a 4-2 vote in favor of the Conditional Use Permit. IT FAILED. You have to have

a majority of seats on the Aldermanic Board (5 votes). Two aldermen were not at the

meeting, even though they could have signed in on zoom from anywhere to attend a

virtual zoom meeting. Barbara Ann Hughes and Jeff Wittmaier were absent.

These two killed the Permit with only six alderpersons present.

PLANE CRASH AT PARKWAY WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL A 1956 Cessna 180 single

engine plane crash landed last Saturday at the Parkway West Middle School on Clayton

Road around noon. It was a hard landing…like a crash.

Chesterfield Police Officer Tim Carter was the first on the scene and helped the pilot out

of the airplane. 3-months earlier Carter received an award for saving an elderly man’s

life who had collapse and was not breathing.

The pilot was Brian Lorenz, 63, of Ballwin, one year younger than the airplane he was

flying.

EMERALD ASH BORE PROGRAM CONTINUES The Planning and Public Works

Committee voted to continue the removal of Ash Trees from public property that have

been infected as Emerald Ash bore. The vote was 3-1 with Michele Ohley voting no.

The program spans over seven years with two years to go. The big issue is with the

reduction of sales taxes due to the pandemic should this program continue of be

modified to reduce costs.

Mary Monachella moved to remove funds for reforestation. Michele Ohley seconded the

motion. Trees being removed are in city easement or right of way areas. The new

trees would be planted on the homeowners’ property near the sidewalk. The estimated

cost per new tree is $325-to-$350. The homeowners have to pay $100. If the

homeowners don’t want a replacement tree, none are planted.

The vote to remove tree replacement from the 2021 budget was 2-2 with Ohley and

Monachella voting yes and Dan Hurt and Mary Ann Mastorakos voting yes. Ties mean

the vote fails.

Next a motion was made to pass the current proposed $475,000 for Ash Bore removal

with some replacement. That passed 3-1 with Michelle Ohley voting no.

If you noticed officers issued 226 more warnings to people breaking traffic laws. This is

not necessarily going to make the streets safer, but what is the point when the

prosecutor Tim Engelmeyer and judge Rick Brunk will let them off as long as they hire a

local attorney. This way the officer handles everything at once and can avoid watching

Engelmeyer and Brunk let everyone off.

The victim reported persons unknown stole her wallet from her cart while shopping at

Sam's Club. Credit cards located in the wallet were later used at the Home Depot in

Chesterfield and a Lowes in St. Louis City.

20-3023-Fraud-635 Trade Center Blvd.

A company located in Chesterfield reported they had not received two checks from

another company located outside of Chesterfield. The checks totaled

$160,000.00. Upon contacting the other company, a representative stated they

received an email they believed to be from the Chesterfield company informing them to

wire the money to an account instead of sending the checks. They then wired the

money. This incident most likely occurred outside of our jurisdiction, however the

investigation is ongoing.

A female took numerous pills in an attempt to commit suicide. She was taken to Mercy for

evaluation.
