In this context, we always try to rely on proven components from our standard collection, which have been optimised over the course of many years. This includes slightly modifying technical concepts as well as products that we have developed in the field of LED technology. A functional, precise and safe solution can be found at the heart of every unique ewoIndividual scenario.

Our fascination with light has provided a decisive impulse at ewo from the very beginning. It is responsible for the transformation of an inter nationally recognised manufacturer of metal components into the company it is today – a producer of high-end lighting systems for public spaces.

The people who work here are largely responsible for our becoming one of the pioneers in the industry within just a few years. Along with the management, over 50 full-time employees are dedicated to the most important goals of our

traditional , family-owned company: high value, quality, reliability and durability. This is also a determining factor in the work we do in each of our four production segments. The lighting systems that we develop are the basis for holistic and well thought out solutions.

Eine besondere Faszination für Licht war von Anfang an die ausschlaggebende Antriebskraft hinter ewo. So wurde aus einer international ausgezeichneten metallverarbeitenden Manu-faktur das heutige Unternehmen – ein Her-steller von hochwertigen Lichtsystemen für den öffentlichen Raum.

Dass wir uns innerhalb von wenigen Jahren zu einem Vorreiter der Branche entwickelten, hat viel mit den Menschen zu tun, die hier arbeiten. Über 50 feste Mitarbeiter_innen stehen gemein-sam mit der Geschäftsleitung für die obersten Ziele des traditionellen Familienunternehmens ein: Wertigkeit, Qualität, Zuverlässigkeit und Lang lebigkeit. Light, in a form that corresponds with the require ments of a given concept: precisely illu-minating the intended spot, rendered in forms and materials appropriate to the context. The priority is often placed on specific aspects when we develop ewoIndividual solutions. For that reason, we begin with a question:

In a sustainable manner – raw surfacesand warm light

Das Ressort am Fuße des Großglockners gehört zu der im Skitourismus führenden Schultz-Gruppe, es besteht aus einem Hotel und 41 lose angeordneten Chalets. Fassaden aus Holz-schindeln stellen einen harmonischen Bezug zur umgebenden Natur her; das traditionelle Bau material aus dem Alpenraum ist Teil des nachhaltigen architektonischen Konzeptes. Der Entwurf des Südtiroler Lichtdesign-Studios Licht raum2 für die Beleuchtung der Wege und Zufahrtsbereiche des Ressorts führt dieses Konzept bis ins Detail weiter: Stahlprofile aus rostendem Stahl schaffen mit ihrer Farbe und Oberfläche eine Verbindung zur umgebenden rauen Gebirgslandschaft. ewo behandelte die gewalzten Stahlträger in einem mehrstufigen Prozess, so dass sie von Anfang an die ge-wünschte charakteristische und einheitliche Patina aufwiesen.

Die Poller- und Mastleuchten an den Eingangs-bereichen der Chalets und an den Wegen sind mit der LED-Technik ausgestattet: Das garantiert die genau bemessene Ausleuchtung für den jeweiligen Bereich; der Energieverbrauch ist minimiert, Lichtverschmutzung tritt nicht auf. Mit einer Abwandlung unserer Lichteinheit erzeugen wir eine sehr warme, einladende Licht- farbe: Die Linsen über den Warmweiß-LEDs werden mit einem speziellen, bernsteinfarbe-nen Lack überzogen. Im Kern der Beleuchtung für dieses naturnahe Szenario stehen somit be-währte Standardkomponenten von ewo. Bei der Gestaltung der Oberflächen und der Lichtfarbe jedoch griffen wir auf Erfahrungen zurück, die wir von unseren Ursprüngen in der Metallver-arbeitung bis zur Entwicklung von Lichttech-nologien gesammelt haben.

Il resort ai piedi del Großglockner appartiene al gruppo Schultz, impresa leader nel turismo sciistico , ed è composto da un hotel e 41 chalet sparsi. Le facciate in scandole di legno sono in rapporto armonico con la natura circostante: il tradizionale materiale da costruzione dell'area alpina è parte integrante di questa visione archi-tettonica sostenibile. Il progetto realizzato dallo studio altoatesino di light design Lichtraum2 per l'illuminazione dei sentieri e delle aree di accesso del resort riprende questa idea fin nei minimi dettagli: il colore e la superficie dei profilati in acciaio ossidato si inseriscono perfet-tamente nell'aspro paesaggio montano. I sostegni in acciaio laminato realizzati da ewo sono stati trattati attraverso un processo in più fasi affinché presentassero fin da subito la caratteristica patina uniforme richiesta.

Per i bollard e i lampioni nelle aree di accesso agli chalet e lungo i sentieri è stata utilizzata la tecnologia LED di ewo, che consente di illu-minare con intensità precisa le diverse aree, riducendo al minimo il consumo energetico ed evitando l'inquinamento luminoso. Con lievi modifiche alla nostra unità di illuminazione abbiamo creato una luce dal colore molto caldo e gradevole. Le lenti applicate sui LED color bianco caldo sono rivestite di una vernice speciale color ambra. Il cuore dell'illuminazione per questo scenario naturale è quindi costituito dagli affidabili componenti standard di ewo. Per la creazione delle superfici e del colore della luce abbiamo comunque attinto sia all'esperienza delle nostre origini nella lavorazione dei metalli sia a quella nello sviluppo delle tecnologie di illuminazione.

The resort at the foot of the Grossglockner belongs to the Schultz Group, which plays a leading role in ski tourism. It consists of a hotel and 41 chalets arranged in loose order. Façades made of wooden shingles underline the harmo-nious relationship with the surrounding land-scape; this building material, which is traditional in the Alps, is part of the sustainable architec-tural concept. The design for illuminating the pathways and driveways of the resort proposed by light designers from Lichtraum2 in South Tyrol adheres to this concept in every detail: the colour and roughness of the posts made of rusted steel establish a connection to the harsh moun-tain landscape. In a multi-stage process, ewo treated the rolled steel supports until they revealed the desired characteristics and a uniform patina.

The posts and pole lights at the entrances to the chalets and along the pathways are equipped with LED technology: guaranteeing a precisely measured level of illumination for the given area; energy consumption is minimised and light pollution is avoided. By modifying our lighting unit, we are able to generate light in a very warm, inviting colour: the lenses over the warm white LEDs are coated with a special amber-coloured-lacquer. Proven standard components from ewo are at the heart of this illumination scenario meant to emulate nature. However, in designing the surfaces and the colour of the luminaires we were able to make use of the experience that we have been able to gather since the days when we produced metal components though to our current work developing lighting technology.

Vielleicht haben die dunklen skandinavischen Winter zu diesem Wunsch beigetragen: Für das weite, hohe Atrium des Osloer Firmensitzes stellte sich das Finanzunternehmen Storebrand ein Lichtsystem vor, das wie die Sonne scheint.

Bei der Umsetzung dieses Vorhabens wurde nicht nur der unmittelbare Effekt, sondern auch die langfristige Praktikabilität mitgedacht. Um Elektroinstallationen und Wartungsarbeiten an der hohen Deckenwand zu vermeiden, basiert die Lösung auf der ewoReflect-Technologie: Spiegel elemente aus dem ewo-Produktsortiment bilden den reflektierenden Rundkörper mit einem Durch messer von 2,5 Metern. Dieser wird von neun an der Brüstung angebrachten Werfern angestrahlt. Installations- und Wartungsarbeiten können somit an einer leicht zugänglichen Stelle durchgeführt werden.

Die Installation stellt die Grundbeleuchtung des Gebäudeinneren sicher und sorgt gleichzeitig für ein starkes emotionales Bild. Unsere Licht-technologie macht den Effekt real: Besucher_innen und Mitarbeiter_innen, die das Gebäude betreten und das Atrium durchschreiten, erleben die Illusion einer Sonne.

I lunghi e bui inverni scandinavi hanno proba-bilmente ispirato l'idea alla base del progetto: per l'alto e spazioso atrio della sua sede di Oslo la società finanziaria Storebrand aveva immaginato un sistema di illuminazione che imitasse il sole.

Nella realizzazione di questa idea si è pensato non solo all'effetto immediato, ma anche alla sua praticità nel tempo. Per evitare l'installazione dell'impianto elettrico sull'alto soffitto e conse-guenti onerose manutenzioni, si è optato per una soluzione basata sulla tecnologia ewoReflect: elementi a specchio della gamma di prodotti ewo costituiscono il corpo rotondo riflettente del diametro di 2,5 metri illuminato da nove proiettori montati sul parapetto. I lavori di installazione e manutenzione possono così essere eseguiti in una posizione facilmente accessibile.

Il sistema fornisce l'illuminazione di base agli interni e regala al tempo stesso una forte impres-sione emotiva. La nostra tecnologia produce un effetto realistico: i visitatori e i collaboratori che entrano nell'edificio e attraversano l'atrio percepiscono l'illusione del sole.

The dark Scandinavian winters may have given rise to this desire: the financial company Store-brand envisioned a lighting system for the wide, high atrium of its Oslo headquarters that would shine like the sun.

In implementing this project, thought was not only given to the direct effect but also to its long-term practicality. In order to avoid electrical installations and maintenance work on the high walls supporting the ceiling, the solution is based on ewoReflect technology: reflective elements from the ewo product line were used to create a circular reflector measuring 2.5 metres in diameter. Nine projectors installed along the balustrade direct light at the reflective surface. Installation and maintenance work can thus be executed from an easily accessible position.

The installation ensures a basic level of illu-mination in the interior of the building and simultaneously has a strong emotional impact. Our lighting technology makes this effect seem real: visitors and employees who enter the building and walk through the atrium experience the illusion of sunshine.

Experiencing the night between carefully placed spots of light

technology, thereby keeping light pollution to a minimum and barely interfering with nocturnal insects. Their energy consumption is as much as 90 per cent lower than for the previous system used to illuminate these pathways. In order to ensure that the luminaires not only fit into the night-time context harmoniously but also into the landscape of the Hönggerberg, ewo developed an entirely new series of pole, bollard and small bollard luminaires.

Der Campus Hönggerberg der ETH Zürich ist ein lebendiger Ort der Wissenschaft, hier begegnen sich Forschende, Studierende und Besucher_innen; Wissen, Ideen und das noch Unbekannte. Der Licht designer Reto Marty von Nachtaktiv wollte diese Dynamik auch in das Beleuchtungskonzept bringen: Eine insgesamt minimale Lichtintensi tät, aufgeteilt in kleine „Lichtportionen“ wird zu einem Rhythmus ent-lang der Wege und kleinen Straßen um den

Berg angeordnet. Die reduzierte Beleuchtung bietet ausreichend Sicherheit und Orientierung, dabei steigert sie aber die Aufmerksamkeit so-wohl für das Licht als auch für die Dunkelheit, die Nacht bleibt deutlich wahrnehmbar.

Die Technik und das Know-how, aus einem sol chen Entwurf ein sinnlich erfahrbares Szenario zu machen, kommen von ewo: Über die präzise Licht führung lässt sich die Licht-menge und die Fläche, die von ihr beleuchtet wird, genau defi nieren. Die mit LED-Technologie ausgestatteten Leuchten reduzieren die Licht-ver schmut zung auf ein Minimum und be - ein trächtigen nachtaktive Insekten kaum. Ihr Energie verbrauch liegt bis zu 90 Prozent unter dem der vorherigen Beleuchtung dieser Wege. Damit sich die Lichtkörper nicht nur in die Nacht, sondern auch harmonisch in das Gelände des Hönggerbergs fügen, ent wickelte ewo eine ganz neue Modellreihe aus Mast-, Poller- und Kleinpollerleuchten.

The Hönggerberg Campus of the ETH Zurich is a vital location for the sciences, one where researchers , students and visitors encounter one another and share knowledge, ideas and what is yet unknown. The light designer Reto Marty from Nachtaktiv also wanted to reflect this dynamism in the lighting concept: light of mini mum intensity distributed in small “por-tions” is arranged rhythmically along the paths and narrow streets winding around the hill. The reduced illumination provides for sufficient safety and orientation while increasing people’s awareness of both light and darkness; the night is still clearly perceptible.

The technology and the know-how needed to transform the design into a sensory experience were provided by ewo: by exactly targeting the surface that is to be illuminated, the amount of light required can be more precisely defined. The lighting fixtures are equipped with LED

Il campus Hönggerberg dell'ETH, il Politecnico federale di Zurigo, è un luogo pulsante di scienza, punto di incontro di ricercatori, studenti e visitatori , ma anche di conoscenze e di idee, comprese quelle ancora in nuce. Il light designer Reto Marty dello studio Nachtaktiv ha voluto esprimere questa dinamica nel progetto di illu-minazione: la luce, con un'intensità ridotta al minimo e suddivisa in piccole "porzioni", è distribuita armoniosamente lungo i sentieri e le strade che corrono intorno alla collina. L'illu-minazione ridotta è comunque sufficiente a garantire sicurezza e orientamento, eppure in questo modo mette in risalto sia la luce sia l'oscurità , lasciando inalterata la percezione della notte.

ewo ha fornito la tecnologia e il know-how per trasformare un tale progetto in uno scenario esperibile con i sensi: grazie alla precisione di orientamento della luce è possibile definire con esattezza la quantità di luce e la superficie illu-minata. I corpi illuminanti con tecnologia LED riducono al minimo l'inquinamento luminoso e la sua influenza sugli insetti notturni. Il consumo energetico è fino al 90 percento inferiore rispetto a quello del sistema di illuminazione precedente. Affinché i corpi illuminanti non solo fossero adatti allo scopo notturno, ma si inserissero armonicamente anche di giorno nell'area del campus, ewo ha sviluppato una serie di modelli completamente nuova composta da pali, bollard e colonnine luminosi.

Illuminated seating elements were also developed and pro-duced for this project; their form and surface enter into a dialogue with the lighting systems.

Der Strand, die Straßen und Plätze von Jesolo an der italienischen Adriaküste befinden sich seit mehreren Jahren im Prozess einer grund legen-den Erneuerung: Der Weg führt vom Massen-tourismus zum Qualitätstourismus, das gesamte Städtchen soll offener und zu einer urbanen Einheit geführt werden. Gustavo Carabajal vom spanischen Architektur studio Carlos Ferrater bezog ewo in die Entwicklung der Piazza Mazzini zu einem städtischen Mittel punkt ein.

Als Skulpturen unterstützen unsere Lichtsysteme den Grundgedanken des Projektes: Sie weisen über ihren Standort hinaus und schaffen einen Bezug vom Inneren der Stadt hin zum Meer. Die Realisierung der Stahlstrukturen stellte eine komplexe Aufgabe dar: Objekte, die derartig große Dimensionen mit einem ästhetischen An-

spruch verbinden, erfordern eine hohe Qualität der Verarbeitung; unsere Kompetenz garantiert hier eine passgenaue Metallstruktur und eine bis auf den Millimeter abgestimmte Verkleidung.

Genau so umsichtig und präzise funktioniert auch die in die Skulptur integrierte Licht-technik. Das System basiert auf der Licht-punktzerlegung, wodurch die Blendung merklich reduziert wird. Die Ausleuchtung erreicht eine hohe Gleichmäßigkeit und die zu beleuchtende Fläche kann exakt begrenzt werden, was vor allem für die umliegenden Häuser eine große Rolle spielt. Für das Projekt wurden ebenfalls beleuchtete Sitz elemente entwickelt und gefer-tigt; ihre Form und Oberfläche treten mit den Lichtsystemen in Korres pondenz.

A renewal programme for the beach, streets and piazzas of Jesolo on the Italian Adriatic Coast has been underway for several years now: the goal is to move from mass tourism to quality tourism, the entire town is to become more open and integrated into a single entity. Gustavo Carabajal from the Spanish architectural office Carlos Ferrater brought ewo in to help with the development of the Piazza Mazzini as a focal point in the town.

As sculptures, our lighting systems underline the basic idea behind the project: they point beyond their actual location and emphasise the relationship between the town’s interior areas and the sea. The realisation of these structures in steel represented a complex task: any object that combines dimensions of this size with aesthetic ambition requires high-quality crafts-manship; our skills guarantee a metal structure with precise dimensions clad in elements that fit to the exact millimetre.

ewo nel progetto che ha fatto di Piazza Mazzini un punto di attrazione della città.

I sistemi di illuminazione che abbiamo realizzato sono sculture che esaltano l'idea di fondo del progetto: rivolti oltre la piazza, creano un collegamento tra il centro e il mare. Il lavoro per la realizzazione delle strutture in acciaio è stato complesso: oggetti di tali dimensioni, che rispondano anche ad esigenze estetiche, richie-dono una lavorazione di alta qualità. Grazie alle nostre competenze abbiamo creato una struttura in metallo perfetta e un rivestimento che si adatta ad essa con precisione millimetrica.

Altrettanto accurata e precisa è la tecnologia di illuminazione integrata nella scultura. Il sistema si basa sul principio della scomposizione dei punti luminosi, che riduce notevolmente l'effetto abbagliante. L'illuminazione raggiunge così un'elevata omogeneità e la superficie da illumi-nare può essere delimitata con precisione, un aspetto molto importante vista la presenza di edifici circostanti. Sono stati inoltre progettati e realizzati degli elementi di seduta illuminati, la cui forma e superficie richiamano quelle del sistema di illuminazione verticale.

Die Erwärmung der Atmosphäre war das zentrale Thema der UN-Klimakonferenz im Jahr 2009, die von der dänischen Regierung mit dem Mandat der Vereinten Nationen ausge-richtet wurde. Zusammen mit dem Lichtdesigner Steven Scott den Architekten von 3XN konnte ewo bereits auf dem Vorplatz des Konferenz-zentrums Zeichen für die Zukunft setzen – mit einem CO2-neutralen Beleuchtungssystem.

Das Herzstück des Projektes Gotham Street Lighting System ist ein von Scotts Firma Scotia entwickelter Mast, der mit Photovoltaik Strom erzeugt. Ein von 3XN entworfenes Gehäuse sollte die Leuchteinheiten aufnehmen. Weil die benötigte Energie nicht höher als die am Mast erzeugte sein durfte, wurde besonders energie -sparende Lichttechnik gesucht. Neben der Fertigung der Gehäuse und der Bereitstellung der ultraeffizienten Lichteinheiten nutzten wir unser Know-how, um die drei Bestandteile – Solarmast, Leuchte, LED-Technologie – in ein zuverlässiges, stabiles System zu integrieren. Beispielsweise verlangt die Solartechnik nach einem dezidierten elektrotechnischen Konzept, wozu die Auswahl spezieller Betriebsgeräte gehört . Mit seinen Partnern realisierte ewo hier einen Prototyp für ein autarkes Lichtsystem. Mit der Erfüllung der Norm EN 13201 für Straßen beleuchtung bis zur höchsten Klassi-fizierung ME1 stellten wir außerdem zu einem frühen Zeitpunkt die Leistungsfähigkeit und Präzision dieser neuen Technologie unter Beweis.

Il riscaldamento globale è stato il tema centrale della Conferenza dell'ONU sul clima organizzata nel 2009 dal governo danese su mandato delle Nazioni Unite. Con un sistema di illuminazione a zero emissioni di CO2 ewo, insieme al light designer Steven Scott e agli architetti dello studio 3XN, ha lasciato una testimonianza per il futuro già nel piazzale antistante il centro congressi.

Il cuore del progetto "Gotham Street Lighting System" è un palo che produce energia elettrica con sistemi fotovoltaici ideato da Scotia, l'azienda del designer Scott. L'alloggiamento per le unità di illuminazione è stato progettato da 3XN. Poiché l'energia per il funzionamento delle lampade non doveva superare quella generata nel palo, sono state utilizzate delle unità di illuminazione a basso consumo. ewo ha sfruttato il proprio know-how non solo per realizzare l'alloggia-mento e predisporre le unità di illuminazione ultraefficienti, ma anche per integrare in un sistema stabile ed efficiente i diversi componenti: palo solare, luci e tecnologia LED. La tecnologia a energia solare richiede ad esempio un progetto elettrotecnico specifico che implica la selezione di alimentatori appositi. Insieme ai nostri partner abbiamo realizzato il prototipo di un sistema di illuminazione autosufficiente. Abbiamo inoltre messo alla prova sin dall'inizio l'efficienza e la precisione di questa nuova tecnologia con la conformità alla norma EN 13201 per l'illumina-zione stradale e con la classificazione ME1, la più alta categoria illuminotecnica di riferimento.

Global warming was the central topic of the UN Conference on Climate Change staged in 2009 by the Danish government under a mandate from the United Nations. Together with the light designer Steven Scott and the architects from 3XN, ewo was already able to present a pioneering solution on the plaza in front of the conference centre by installing a CO2-neutral illumination system.

At the heart of the Gotham Street Lighting System project is a mast developed by Scott’s company, Scotia, which generates solar power. The lighting units were to be installed in fixtures designed by 3XN. Because the energy required was not to exceed what could be generated by the mast, highly efficient lighting technology was sought. In addition to producing the fixtures and providing the ultra-efficient lighting units, we used our know-how, to integrate the three components – the solar mast, the lighting fixture and the LED technology – into a reliable and stable system. Particularly since solar technology requires specific electro-technical solutions that include special operating equipment.

Together with its partners, ewo realised a proto-type for an autonomous lighting system in this context. By complying with the highest classi-fication of the technical standard EN 13201 for road lighting, ME1, we also provided proof of the potential performance and precision of this new technology at an early date.

Der verantwortliche Architekt für die behut-same Neugestaltung von Kaltern inmitten der Weinlandschaft des Überetsch in Südtirol ist der hier geborene Walter Angonese. Er und die Gemeinde bestanden bei der Beleuchtung auf einer eigens angefertigten Lösung, die die Besonder heiten des Ortes respektiert und her-vorhebt. Angonese beschreibt die hier ent-wickelten Leuchten als „Beleuchtungs körper, deren Funk tion, Formgebung und Materialität eine Symbiose eingehen“.

Die Trapezform des Gehäuses stellt eine formale Lösung dar, die sowohl als Mastleuchte als auch direkt an der Wand angebracht funktioniert. Den besonderen Charakter erhalten die Leuch-ten jedoch durch ihre Oberfläche: Zum Einsatz kommt Baubronze. Für dieses Material ist Zeit kein Faktor der Abnutzung, sondern der Ver-vollkommnung. Es nimmt nach und nach eine grünliche Patina an und offenbart erst im Verlauf der Jahrzehnte seine wahre Schönheit. In dieser Hinsicht ähnelt es dem Charakter eines Ortes.

Walter Angonese è l'architetto incaricato del rispettoso restyling di Caldaro, comune dell'Alto Adige immerso nei vigneti dell'Oltradige che gli ha dato i natali. D'accordo con l'Amministrazione comunale ha optato per una soluzione di illu-minazione ideata appositamente, che rispetti e metta in risalto le peculiarità del luogo. L'archi-tetto descrive gli oggetti realizzati come "corpi illuminanti in cui la funzione, la forma e i materiali sono in simbiosi fra loro."

La forma trapezoidale del corpo che ospita le unità di illuminazione è una soluzione formale che può essere applicata sia su palo sia diretta-mente a muro. La caratteristica particolare di questi sistemi è però rappresentata dalla loro superficie, per la quale è stato utilizzato il bronzo , una delle leghe più antiche della storia. Per questo materiale il tempo non rappresenta un fattore di deterioramento, ma di perfezio-namento. Giorno dopo giorno il bronzo edile utilizzato a Caldaro acquista una patina verdo-gnola e mostra la sua vera bellezza solo con il passare degli anni, rispecchiando in questo senso il carattere del luogo.

The architect responsible for the circumspect redesign of the town of Caldaro, in the midst of the vineyards of the Alto Adige region of South Tyrol, was Walter Angonese, a native son. Along with the town itself, he insisted on a specifically produced solution that respected and empha-sized the special character of the locality. Angonese described the lighting fixtures that were developed here as “luminaires that enter into a symbiosis through their function, form and the material used.”

The trapezoidal shape of the fixtures represents a form that functions both when mounted on a pole as well as directly on the wall. It is, how-ever, the surface that really provides the lumi-naires with their special character: architectural bronze was used. This material does not so much wear out over time but, instead, improves. It gradually takes on a greenish patina and only reveals its true beauty over the course of decades. In this sense, it resembles the character of the village.

A communicating light system in a customized housing

Der Stationsplein (Bahnhofsplatz) am Bahnhof Enschede-Drienerlo befindet sich in unmittel-barer Nähe zum Fußballstadion des FC Twente Enschede und zum Zukunftsprojekt ‚Business & Science Park‘. Mit Kompetenz in der Inte-gration mehrerer Lichtsysteme – teils innerhalb einer Leuchte – und der Erfahrung in der Herstellung hochwertiger Metallkonstruktionen realisierte ewo das Lichtdesign-Konzept.

Den Bahnhofsplatz leuchten mehrere runde Stelen aus. Ihre Höhe zwischen 7,85 und 15,5 Metern richtet sich nach der Weite des jeweils aus zu leuchtenden Abschnitts. Entsprechend aus-ge rich tete Lichteinheiten leisten durch elliptische Öffnungen unterhalb ihrer Spitze die Grund-beleuchtung. Zusätzlich tritt durch unzählige Ornamente im unteren Teil Licht aus. LEDs in einem diffus-transluzenten Kunststoffzylinder an der Spitze passen ihre Lichtfarbe an die je weils im Stadion spielende Heimmannschaft an. Die ganze Anlage ist dimmbar, über viele weitere Möglichkeiten der Steuerung können unter schied liche Nachtbilder des Platzes ge-schaffen werden.

Ein einzelner Hochmast in der Mitte einer Ver-kehrsinsel direkt vor dem Stadion beleuchtet die Verkehrssituation. Das bronzefarben lackierte Gehäuse besteht aus mehreren übereinander-geschichteten Ebenen, die je eine unterschied-liche Anzahl von Lichteinheiten aufnehmen. So ent steht eine in sich leuchtende diamantähnliche Form, die eine weithin sichtbare Landmarke darstellt.

Il piazzale della stazione di Enschede-Drienerlo si trova vicino allo stadio del Football Club Twente e al futuro Business & Science Park. ewo ha ideato il disegno luci sfruttando il pro-prio know-how nell'integrazione di più sistemi di illuminazione, anche all'interno di un solo corpo illuminante, e l'esperienza nella costru-zione di strutture in metallo di alta qualità.

Il piazzale antistante lo stadio è illuminato da diversi pali cilindrici con altezze che variano da 7,85 m a 15,5 m a seconda dell'estensione della sezione di superficie da illuminare. I corpi illuminanti appositamente progettati forniscono l'illuminazione di base attraverso aperture ellittiche poste sotto l'estremità superiore del palo mentre ulteriore luce proviene anche dai numerosi elementi decorativi nella parte inferiore del lampione. L'estremità superiore è costituita da un cilindro in plastica traslucida che emette una luce diffusa, emessa da LED, e il cui colore viene impostato su quello della squadra locale che di volta in volta gioca nello stadio. Tutte le luci sono dimmerabili e grazie alle diverse opzioni di regolazione è possibile creare imma-gini notturne differenti del piazzale.

Un unico alto palo al centro dell'isola sparti-traffico davanti allo stadio illumina la circola-zione stradale. L'alloggiamento apicale dei corpi illuminanti, verniciato in color bronzo, è composto da vari livelli sovrapposti, ognuno dei quali accoglie un numero diverso di unità di illuminazione. Si è creata in questo modo una forma simile a un diamante luminoso, che rappresenta un punto di riferimento topografico visibile da lontano.

The Stationsplein at Enschede-Drienerlo, i. e. the plaza in front of the railway station, is located in direct proximity to FC Twente Enschede’s foot-ball stadium and near the pioneering ‘Business & Science Park’ project. The concept for the lighting design was realised by ewo based on our competence in integrating numerous lighting systems – sometimes even within the same lighting fixture – and our experience in pro-ducing high-quality metal products.

The railway station plaza is illuminated by a number of round posts. The individual height, ranging between 7.85 and 15.5 metres, is calcu-lated according to the breadth of the segment that is to be illuminated. Lighting units installed below the top of the posts and arranged to shine on the area in question provide the basic level of illumination through their elliptical openings. In addition, light also shines through countless decorative perforations in the lower section of the post. The colour of the light from the LEDs encased in the diffusely translucent plastic cylinders at the top can be adjusted to match those of the home team playing at the stadium. The entire system can be dimmed and additional control options make it possible to create a variety of nocturnal impressions on the plaza.

An individual high pole in the middle of a traffic island in front of the stadium provides illumination for the traffic there. It is encased in a grid of conical units painted bronze, stacked one on top of the other, each are equipped with a different number of lighting units. The result is like a diamond seen from the back with light radiating from its facets, it serves as a landmark visible from afar.

Different light scenarios – one minimal form

Nach zweijährigem Neubau unter der Leitung der Architekten von Delugan Meissl wurde das Festspielhaus der Tiroler Festspiele Erl im Dezember 2012 eingeweiht. Für das beein-druckende, dabei respektvoll in die Bergland-schaft integrierte Kulturgebäude fertigte ewo eine neue Leuchtenform an, die nicht in Kon-kurrenz zur Architektur tritt.

Zusätzlich zu den integrierten Lichtelementen für die Beleuchtung der Außenflächen sind LEDs ins Innere des diskusförmigen Gehäuses gerichtet und bringen dieses sichtbar zum Leuchten – die umlaufenden Seitenbänder sind aus Plexiglas gefertigt .

Im Rahmen der so definierten einheitlichen Form erfüllen die Mastleuchten je nach Platzie-rung verschiedene Funktionen der Beleuchtung: Im Zufahrtsbereich leisten mehrere hohe Masten eine gleichmäßige und gut abgegrenzte Ausleuchtung. Niedrigere Masten im hinteren Bereich um das Gebäude schaffen einen spie - le ri schen Hell-Dunkel-Rhythmus. Die ent spre-chen de Konfiguration der Standard-LED-Ein-heit und die Kaschierung der abschließenden Glasfläche ermöglichen diese Variation.

Nel dicembre 2012, dopo due anni di lavori diretti dagli architetti dello studio Delugan Meissl, è stato inaugurato il teatro dei Tiroler Festspiele ad Erl. L'edificio adibito a eventi culturali è imponente, ma si inserisce armonio-samente nel paesaggio montano circostante. Per l'illuminazione ewo ha realizzato corpi illuminanti con forme nuove, che non entrano in competizione estetica con l'architettura.

Oltre a contenere le unità illuminanti per le super fici esterne, l'alloggiamento a disco dei lampioni porta all'interno alcuni LED che illuminano il disco stesso attraverso un anello trasparente perimetrale in plexiglas.

La forma dall'estetica così definita e omogenea consente ai lampioni di svolgere funzioni di illuminazione diverse a seconda della loro posi-zione: nell'area di accesso una serie di lampioni più alti fornisce un'illuminazione uniforme e ben delimitata, mentre lampioni più bassi nell'area attorno all'edificio creano un gioco ritmico di chiaroscuro. Queste differenze funzionali sono possibili grazie alle rispettive configurazioni costruttive dell'unità LED standard e al tratta-mento del rivestimento in vetro.

After two years of construction under the direction of the architects Delugan Meissl, the Festspielhaus for the Tirolean Festival Erl was inaugurated in December 2012. ewo developed a new form of luminaire for this cultural institu-tion, which is both impressive and respect fully integrated into the landscape, a fixture that does not compete with the architecture.

In addition to the integrated lighting elements to illuminate the outdoor spaces, there are LEDs directed towards the inside of the fixture’s disk-like casing, visibly illuminating it since the bands around the sides are made of Plexiglas.

While adhering to the uniform programme thus defined, the pole lights fulfil various functions depending on their location: along the driveway, numerous high poles provide evenly distributed, clearly delineated illumination. Lower poles around the building create a play-ful rhythm of light and dark. The corresponding configuration, which uses our standard LED unit while masking the glass surface, makes the variation possible.

A lighting family for a city within a city

Auf einer Fläche von über 650 Hektar entlang der Wasserlinie Dubais sollen sich ab 2015 Geschäfte , Freizeitangebote, Hotels, Schulen, Büros und Wohnflächen zu einer Stadt in der Stadt zusammenfügen. Ein weitreichender Ent-wurf für die Straßenbeleuchtung des ganzen Areals gehört bei einem Vorhaben dieser Klasse dazu.

Unsere Arbeit baute auf einem Konzept des kali-fornischen Lichtdesign-Studios Visual Terrain auf. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem verantwort-lichen Designer entwickelte ewo innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine vollständig neue Leuchten-familie mit einer durchgehend eigenen Formen -sprache. Auf dem Weg von der Idee zum Prototyp erarbeiteten wir technische und kon struktive Lösungen für jedes der 13 Modelle. Die über 700 Leuchten mit Höhen von 3,5 bis 14 Metern wurden bei uns in Kurtatsch gefertigt und von dort in die Arabischen Emirate verschifft.

Mehr noch als die Dimensionen des Projektes war es die Form der Doppelhelix, bei der unsere Kompetenzen am meisten zum Tragen kamen. Für die Produktion eines konisch zulaufenden Rohrs und dessen dreidimensionale Windungen fehlte weltweit ein entsprechendes Produktions-verfahren. Deshalb haben wir ein solches für dieses Projekt entwickelt und patentiert.

La costruzione di una serie di attività commer-ciali, strutture per il tempo libero, hotel, scuole, uffici e abitazioni a partire dal 2015 porterà alla creazione di una città nella città su una super-ficie di oltre 650 ettari lungo la costa di Dubai. Un progetto di tale portata non può non includere un articolato sistema per l'illuminazione stradale dell'intera area.

Il nostro lavoro si è basato sul progetto dello studio californiano di light design Visual Terrain. In collaborazione con il designer incaricato del progetto, ewo ha ideato in tempi brevissimi una famiglia di corpi illuminanti completamente nuova dalla forma del tutto originale. Nel per-corso che ha portato dall'idea alla realizzazione dei prototipi abbiamo studiato soluzioni tecniche e costruttive per ciascuno dei 13 modelli. Gli oltre 700 lampioni con un'altezza da 3,5 m a 14 m sono stati costruiti nel nostro stabilimento di Cortaccia e trasportati per nave nell'emirato arabo.

Le nostre competenze hanno avuto un ruolo da protagonista non tanto nella dimensione del progetto, quanto nella realizzazione della forma a doppia elica. In tutto il mondo non esisteva infatti un procedimento per la costruzione di pali conici con curvatura nelle tre dimensioni. Abbiamo così ideato e brevettato un procedi-mento proprio per questo progetto.

In 2015, shops, leisure facilities, hotels, schools, offices and residential space built on an area measuring over 650 hectares directly on the water front in Dubai will begin to be consolidated as a city within the city. An extensive design proposal for the illumination of the streets within the entire area obviously plays an important role in a project of this magnitude.

Our work was based on a concept developed by the Californian light design studio Visual Terrain. In collaboration with the designer in charge, ewo developed a whole new family of luminaires based on the same vocabulary of forms within a very short time. While progress-ing from the idea to the prototype, we developed technical and constructive solutions for every one of the 13 models. For this project, we produced over 700 luminaires measuring between 3.5 and 14 metres in height in Kurtatsch and then shipped them to the UAE.

While our capabilities were clearly needed to come to terms with the dimensions of the pro-ject, we were really put to the test by the double helix form that was chosen for the project. There was no established production process for the conically tapered tubular construction and its three-dimensional twists, so we developed a process for this project and had it patented.

one object arose from the fact that the electrical power supply to the building could not be installed just anywhere within the old walls. This was also a priority from a design perspective: it should be possible to sense the original space to its full effect without encountering any obstacles.

By engaging in a dialogue with the architects, doing on-site testing and constructing proto-types, a powder-coated aluminium lighting post was developed, its material and form have a functional character. It consciously refrains from

blending in with the surface of the vault, yet is still unobtrusive, maintaining certain distance.

However, the light it radiates enters into a diverse range of interactions with the space around it: lighting units that radiate upwards draw the visitors’ attention to the ceiling while providing illumination from the full height of the space. Light from the middle of the post reaches the centre of the space, while light from an opening near the floor accentuates the area around the post.

The Cittadella Nuova, a fortress near Pisa built around 1440, is now called the Giardino (di) Scotto because of the garden landscape laid out in the middle of it during the 19th century. We participated in this project, which allows the public to access the interior.

Inside each of the posts is a node for the infra-structure, they contain electrical connections and serve to indicate the emergency exists. Giardino (di) Scotto wegen der im 19. Jahrhun-dert angelegten Gartenlandschaft in ihrer Mitte. Wir waren an dem Vorhaben beteiligt, die Innen-räume der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Das Alter der Bausubstanz erforderte ein vorsichti ges Vorgehen. Der Wunsch, mehrere Funktionen rund um die Beleuchtung in ein Objekt zu inte grieren, ergab sich aus der Tat-sache, dass Stromzuleitungen im Gemäuer nicht beliebig verlegt werden konnten. Dieses Interesse wird aus gestalterischer Sicht verstärkt:

Die Wirkung des ursprünglichen Raumes soll sich möglichst ungehindert entfalten.

Im gemeinsamen Austausch mit dem Architek-ten, in Versuchen vor Ort und über den Bau von Proto typen wurde eine Lichtstele aus pulver-beschichtetem Aluminium entwickelt, ihre Materialität und Form haben einen funktionalen Charakter. Sie passt sich bewusst nicht an die Oberfläche des Gewölbes an, ist dennoch un-auffällig, die Grenze wahrend.

Das abgegebene Licht hingegen geht vielgestal-tige Verbindungen mit dem Raum ein: Nach oben strahlende Lichteinheiten bringen die Decke in die Wahrnehmung der Besucher und sorgen für Helligkeit aus der Höhe des Raumes. Aus der Mitte der Stele gelangt Licht in die Mitte des Raumes, während aus einer bodennahen Öffnung der Platz rund um die Stele akzentuiert wird.

Nach innen ist jede Stele ein Knotenpunkt für die Infrastruktur, sie alle enthalten Stromanschlüsse und übernehmen die Kennzeichnung der Not-ausgänge. Nach außen geben sie sowohl indi-rektes als auch gerichtetes Licht großzügig in den Raum hinein und sorgen so für eine gleich-mäßige Klarheit. Zwischen den alten Mauern entsteht eine warme und weiche Atmosphäre.

La Cittadella Nuova, una fortezza edificata a Pisa intorno al 1440, deve il suo nome odierno Giardino Scotto al giardino allestito al centro della costruzione nel XIX secolo. ewo ha colla-borato al progetto che ha portato all'apertura degli spazi interni al pubblico.

L'età del patrimonio architettonico ha imposto un approccio prudente. La richiesta di integrare in un solo oggetto varie funzioni di illuminazione è stata dettata dall'impossibilità di eseguire tracce a piacimento nelle mura per far passare i cavi elettrici. A questa esigenza si aggiungevano anche riflessioni di carattere estetico: la perce-zione degli ambienti originari doveva rimanere più intatta possibile.

In collaborazione con l'architetto incaricato del progetto, dopo varie prove in loco e attraverso la costruzione di alcuni prototipi, è stata ideata una stele luminosa in alluminio verniciato a polveri, in cui la forma e i materiali hanno carattere funzionale. Si è voluto optare per una soluzione che, pur non integrandosi con le super-fici degli ambienti con soffitto a volta, risulta discreta e rispettosa dei limiti.

La luce emessa si collega al contrario all'am-biente circostante in molteplici modi: le unità di illuminazione orientate verso l'alto richiamano l'attenzione del visitatore sui soffitti a volta e creano una luminosità diffusa dall'alto.

Für die Kapelle im Krankenhaus der Barm-herzigen Schwestern in Ried entwickelte ewo mehrere LED-basierte Lichtsysteme. Der Archi-tekt Do me nico La Marca stand vor der Aufgabe, innerhalb eines funktionalen, sterilen Umfeldes eine warme, innige Atmosphäre zu schaffen.

Ein Fluss durchgehender Linien umrahmt den Raum auf der Mittelachse: Metallstreifen am Boden und an den Wänden werden an der Decke mit parallelen Lichtlinien weitergezeichnet. Links und rechts davon sind Lichtdecken abge-hängt, die das Prinzip längsgerichteter, leuch-tender Linien aufnehmen. Die Wölbung der Rückwand hinter dem Altar tritt durch vertikal eingelassene Lichtschwerter deutlicher hervor.

Im gesamten Projekt sind es vorgesetzte Streifen aus Plexiglas, mit denen das punktuelle Licht von LEDs diffus aufgefächert wird. Die entstehenden Lichtlinien und Lichtstreifen leuchten sanft und erzeugen weiche Konturen. Die Definition des entsprechenden Kunststoffs, einem Plexiglas, dessen Abstand zu den LEDs und andere Parameter, die eine gleichmäßig leuchtende Oberfläche erzeugen, erarbeiteten wir mit einem langjährigen Lieferpartner aus dem Kunststoffbereich.

Die Linien tauchen den gesamten Raum in ein weiches gleichmäßiges Licht, sie selbst treten eher als ästhetische Formen denn Lichtquellen in Erscheinung, auch eine erkennbare Beauf-schlagung von Flächen findet nicht statt. Leucht elemente schaffen hier Richtungen und Strukturen, sie geben dem Raum einen gestal-terischen Rahmen.

Per la cappella dell'ospedale delle Suore della Misericordia a Ried ewo ha sviluppato diversi sistemi di illuminazione con tecnologia LED. All'architetto Domenico La Marca è stato affi-dato il compito di creare un'atmosfera calda e intima in un ambiente asettico e funzionale.

Una serie di linee continue incornicia lo spazio lungo l'asse centrale: le strisce in metallo sul pavimento e sulle pareti proseguono sul soffitto in forma di linee di luce parallele. A destra e a sinistra di questo ambiente pendono dal soffitto pannelli luminosi che riprendono il motivo delle linee di luce longitudinali. La curvatura della parete dietro l'altare è messa in risalto da spade di luce verticali incassate.

Per l'intero progetto sono state applicate sulle fonti luminose delle strisce in plexiglas che dif-fondono la luce puntuale dei LED. Ne risultano linee e strisce di luce che creano un'illumina-zione delicata e contorni morbidi. Insieme ad un nostro fornitore di materie plastiche di lunga data abbiamo studiato il tipo di plastica più adatta (un tipo di plexiglas), la sua distanza dai LED e gli altri parametri attraverso cui ottenere una superficie luminosa omogenea.

Le linee immergono l'intero ambiente in una luce morbida e uniforme e appaiono più come forme estetiche che non fonti luminose, mentre non si percepisce che le superfici siano colpite direttamente dalla luce. Gli elementi luminosi definiscono in questo progetto direzioni e strutture , conferendo allo spazio una cornice architettonica.

For the chapel at the Hospital of the Barm-herzige Schwestern (Sisters of Charity) in Ried, ewo developed a number of LED-based lighting systems. The architect Domenico La Marca was faced with the task of creating a warm, intimate atmosphere within functional, sterile surroundings.

The flow of contiguous lines frames the space of the central axis: metal strips on the floor and the walls are echoed by parallel lines of light on the ceiling. To the left and the right, illuminated panels are suspended, echoing the principle of vertically aligned, illuminated lines. The curve of the apse is emphasised by vertically arranged spears of light behind the altar.

Throughout the project, strips of Plexiglas are installed in front of the sources of illumination to diffuse the beam of light emitted by the LEDs. The lines and strips of light thus created provide subdued illumination resulting in soft contours. We determined the plastic used, a form of Plexiglas, as well as its distance from the LEDs and other parameters in cooperation with one of our long-term plastics suppliers in order to create evenly lit surfaces.

The lines immerse the entire room in a soft, even light, despite the fact that they seem more like aesthetic elements than sources of light; the light never discernably impinges any of the surfaces. The lighting fixtures define the orientation and structure of the space, virtually framing the room in the proper light.

Der untere Stadtplatz des österreichischen Kufstein mit seinen Altstadtgebäuden – Restau-rants, Cafés, Geschäfte – bildet das Zentrum der Stadt. Im Zuge der Überführung in eine Fuß gängerzone realisierte ewo in weniger als zwei Monaten das von den Architekten ARGE Köberl & Giner Wucherer mit den Licht planern von Halo tech entworfene Lichtsystem.

In die von uns entwickelten kugelförmigen Leuchten sind je zwei Lichtsysteme unterschied-licher Funktion integriert. Nach unten stellen Lichteinheiten die Grundbeleuchtung sicher: Ihr Ausstrahlungswinkel wurde auf 50° begrenzt, über den gesamten Platz erzeugen weich aus-laufende, beleuchtete Kreise einen Hell-Dunkel-Rhythmus. Die opake, sandgestrahlte Kunst-stoffhülle wie derum zeichnet einen kleinen Lichttupfer in die Höhe.

ewo hat das System mit Komponenten für die Programmierung und Steuerung ausgestattet. Von den drei LEDs pro Linse wird erst nur eine LED in tageslichtähnlichem Kaltweiß aktiviert; die spätere Zuschaltung zweier Warmweiß-LEDs ändert die Farbe im Laufe der Nacht in Richtung Warmweiß, die Beleuchtung passt sich dem Über gang vom Tag zur Nacht an.

Die Kugel wiederum kann unterschiedliche Lichtfarben annehmen und damit Feiertagen oder besonderen Ereignissen eine spezielle Atmo sphäre verleihen.

La Unterer Stadtplatz di Kufstein, la piazza con i suoi edifici antichi che ospitano oggi ristoranti, caffè e negozi, costituisce il centro della cittadina austriaca. Nel contesto della conversione dell'area in una zona pedonale ewo ha realizzato in meno di due mesi il sistema di illuminazione, ideato dagli architetti dello studio ARGE Köberl & Giner Wucherer insieme ai progettisti illumino-tecnici di Halotech.

Le lampade sferiche ideate da ewo contengono due sistemi di illuminazione con funzioni diffe-renti. Le unità di illuminazione rivolte verso il basso forniscono l'illuminazione di base: il loro angolo di irradiazione è limitato a 50° e tracciano sulla piazza dei dischi luminosi dai contorni tenui , che creano un'alternanza armoniosa di luce e oscurità. Le sfera opaca in plastica sabbiata disegna a sua volta una piccola macchia di luce verso l'alto.

ewo ha provvisto il sistema di componenti per la programmazione e la regolazione. Dei tre LED di cui è dotata ogni lente il primo ad attivarsi è quello con temperatura di colore bianco freddo che imita la luce diurna; nel corso della notte il colore diventa più caldo con l'accensione dei due LED a luce bianca calda. L'illuminazione accompagna quindi il passaggio dal giorno alla notte.

Anche la luce della sfera può assumere colori differenti e creare così un'atmosfera speciale nei giorni di festa o in occasioni particolari.

The lower city square with its old-town buildings – restaurants, cafés and shops – is at the centre of the Austrian city of Kufstein. In the wake of its transformation into a pedestrian zone, ewo produced fixtures for a lighting system, designed by the architects ARGE Köberl & Giner Wucherer together with the lighting planners from Halotech, in less than two months.

Two lighting systems with different functions are integrated into the spherical lighting fixtures that we developed. The light that shines down from the units installed to provide basic illu-mination is limited to a 50° angle throughout the entire square, creating circles of light with softly diffused edges rhythmically alternating between light and dark. The opaque, sand-blasted plastic spheres, in turn, provide a little highlight at the top of the pole.

ewo equipped the system with programming and control components. Of the three LEDs per lens, only one is initially activated in a cold white that resembles daylight; later, two warm white LEDs are added, transforming the colour over the course of the evening into warm white, thus adapting the illumination to the transition from day to night.

The colour of the light emitted by the sphere can be varied, providing a unique atmosphere for holidays or special events.

Der zentrale Park in der toskanischen Stadt Vecchiano wurde neu gestaltet – mit freund-liche ren Farben und mehr Spielflächen. ewo begleitete den Erneuerungsprozess mit der Beleuchtung des Areals. Ein zentraler planeri-scher Wunsch bestand darin, in einen Leucht-körper mehrere Funktionen zu integrieren, in diesem Fall Lautsprecher und Kameras.

Durch eine Variation der ewo-Mastleuchte FA können diese Funktionen nun in einer minima-listischen Form vereint werden. Zusätzliche Elemente müssen nicht platziert werden, das architektonische Konzept wird nicht beein-trächtigt.

Wenn es dunkel ist, wird der Platz von einem angenehmen Warmweiß-Licht erhellt. Neben der entsprechenden Haupt-Leuchtkomponente ist in die Horizontale der Aluminiumkonstruktion zusätzlich ein LED-Strahler vom Typ R100 ein-gelassen. Dieser gibt bei Bedarf Licht in einem frei wählbaren RGB-Farbton entlang des Mastes nach unten ab. Die daraus entstehende Möglich-keit, den Platz bei Veranstaltungen in unter-schiedliche Farbstimmungen zu tauchen, ergänzt den multifunktionalen Charakter des Leucht-mastes.

Il parco nel centro della città toscana di Vecchiano è stato sottoposto a un restyling che gli ha conferito colori più gradevoli e una super ficie più ampia per i giochi dei bambini. ewo ha partecipato al progetto di rinnovamento realizzando l'illuminazione dell'area. Una delle principali esigenze progettuali era l'integrazione di varie funzioni in un solo corpo illuminante, nello specifico un altoparlante e una telecamera.

Apportando alcune modifiche al lampione FA di ewo, è stato possibile inserire queste funzioni nel corpo illuminante con minimi interventi estetici. Non è stato quindi necessario posizio-nare ulteriori elementi nel parco, lasciandone così inalterata la concezione architettonica.

Al calare della sera la piazza è rischiarata da una gradevole luce bianca calda. Nell'elemento orizzontale della struttura in alluminio è stato montato, oltre all'unità luminosa principale, un faro LED del tipo R100 che può emettere luce in uno dei colori RGB a piacere verso il basso lungo il palo. Il carattere multifunzionale del lampione è così completato dalla possibilità di immergere la piazza in atmosfere cromatiche differenti in occasione di manifestazioni particolari.

The park at the centre of the Tuscan city of Vecchiano was redesigned – introducing friend- lier colours and larger play areas. ewo flanked this renewal process by providing illumination for the area. The planners placed a priority on integrating several functions into the luminaires used, in this case: loudspeakers and cameras.

By modifying the ewo pole light FA, it was possible to integrate these functions into a minimalist form. There was no need to install additional elements, and no interference with the architectural concept.

When it gets dark, the area is illuminated by a pleasant warm white light. In addition to the corresponding main lighting components, an additional recessed R100 type LED spot is installed in the horizontal aluminium fixture. As desired, light in any RGB colour can be cast on part of the pole and the ground around it. The resulting possibility of creating different atmospheres by immersing the area in various colours augments the multifunctional character of the lighting pole.
