Dear Teacher

Greetings! Namasthe! Aadab!!

We at PRAVINYA always feel that teaching is a very noble profession and the most important foundation for the society.

We are living in the digital age. All around us, children are observing and quietly learning from the audio-visual media namely phones, TVs, movies

and others Thus Digital education is only an extension of the dramatic impact of the audio-visual education that children today are already exposed

to.

EVS studied at the Primary school level lays the foundation for study of Sciences and social sciences If we can inculcate curiosity and observation in

early childhood, they would be able to inculcate conceptual understanding of Sciences at the secondary and higher levels. Keeping in view, the

importance of EVS in Primary classes, PLMS +p brings you 97 Modules the following options this year. In most modules Quizzes are also built in.

Some of these need to be accessed from PLMS and the rest from ToonMasti. These details are mentioned in the lesson-wise detailed index provided

to you in this document. In the Lessons Index, you can locate the class of your choice, Unit which you wish to teach, all the modules linked

to that unit, its source, type of content – whether it is video content or interactive content and if it is video content then its duration. These

details help you to plan for your lesson using the digital tools.

ToonMasti – EVS modules ToonMasti is an educational software package developed by EYF (Ernst and Young Foundation) for Government schools. It offers EVS lessons for

classes 1 to 5 which are mapped to our curriculum for classes 2 to 5. It is developed for joyful learning and children get very attracted to its format.

At the time of teaching a new lesson, please refer to the index given at the end of this document. You may find that the lesson is covered. If you look

at the source, you will notice that the source may be ToonMasti or PLMS. You need to access the relevant application depending upon the source.

Lessons in EVS

The lessons are in a story format in English medium. It will help young learners to easily pick up English

vocabulary as well as pronunciation while learning the EVS concepts. We have provided lesson-wise

mapping for your convenience and ease of use.

Pictionary

Pictionary, which means Pictures based dictionary, helps to build vocabulary in a joyful manner. Vocabulary

is presented under 26 different groups such as Animals, Birds, Seasons, Shapes, and so on. A number of

these topics overlap with EVS concepts and it is an attractive tool for children to learn words related to EVS.

PLMS+p PLMS contains EVS lessons in Telugu medium as per the text book prescribed by SCERT from two different sources - PRAVINYA (14 videos) and SIET

(4 videos).

PRAVINYA EVS lessons

EVS lessons developed by PRAVINYA cover the text book lesson and include activities prescribed. Through the

rich visual content, it becomes easier for the child to relate to the topic and develop a more realistic

understanding of the concept.

SIET EVS lessons

EVS lessons provided by SIET are actual class room videos by Subject teacher. By playing these lessons, a

whole unit is covered as per the stipulated pedagogy for EVS. The interactions between the teacher are

similar to a real classroom setting and students will therefore find it very easy to relate to the lesson.

Teacher Tools

The approach to teaching EVS and pedagogy have undergone significant changes over the last few years. In order to understand why such changes

have occurred and how to effectively use the current methodology to improve EVS concepts in students, please do watch the modules on
