114. Town Hall Update – verbal report

The Town Clerk gave a verbal report regarding the possible opening of the town hall. The Clerk advised that the hall had been closed on 25th March due to the coronavirus pandemic and bookings that had been made for the months of April/May/June had been postponed until September/October. However, given that the Government advice at present, indoor functions can only hold a maximum of 30 people – tables 2 meters apart – and no dancing/live acts/singing, more bookings had been further postponed or cancelled.

There was one booking in September for a wedding and one for a party in October. The Clerk is constantly monitoring the Government Guidelines and will continue to make risk assessments as time moves on.

Page 5: EVESHAM TOWN COUNCIL€¦ · 6. Planning Applications To receive and consider planning applications received from Wychavon District Council since the last meeting of the Planning

The Clerk also advised that the glass washer in the bar needed replacement. As part of the risk assessment it was determined that a glass washer was preferable to handwashing the glasses which presented issues for the bar staff. He explained that it had been repaired back in 2019 but had broken again. Cllr Booth commented that it maybe possible to repair the washer and that he knew somebody who did. It was noted that officers had obtained 3 quotes for similar sized glasswashers (the old machine was not obsolete) all around the £800. It was RESOLVED that the Clerk investigates if it can be repaired, if not it was RESOLVED to order a replacement.

Agenda Item No. 7

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing regarding a proposal to prohibit parking in Alexandra Road, Hampton. See attached plan, drawing 2020.564.1, for further details.

The restrictions are intended to prevent parking immediately after the current double yellow lines, which causes a potential conflict for meeting vehicles, see attached photograph.

I should be grateful for your comments on this proposal by 15th October 2020.

Yours Faithfully
