Please welcome these newest members of our parish community.

On behalf of Fr. Joe, Fr. Richard, Fr. Gonzalo and all the staff at St. Mary’s, I wish all of you a very happy and blessed Easter!Easter is the most important day we Christians celebrate because it is truly the day of our salvation. During the Easter Season we celebrate our redemption from sin. We are constantly reminded that by his death and resurrection Jesus Christ freed us from sin and saved us. We do not have to do anything to gain our salvation. As one of my theology professors used to say, “Salvation is ours to lose!” Our job now is to live our lives like we really believe that we are saved. Our saved lives must be lives of forgiveness and compassion. Our saved lives must be lives of peace and justice. Our saved lives must be lives of welcoming and unity. Keeping our eyes on those goals and living lives that reflect those values will truly mark us as Christians!

The great Jesuit theologian, the late Karl Rahner, once said that ‘we are always already forgiven.’ Think about that little phrase; pray about that little phrase. It really sums up the message of Christianity.

The Lenten and Holy Week celebrations were all wonderful. I want to thank everyone who was involved in the planning and execution of these prayerful liturgies. Many people worked very hard to make all our Holy Week celebrations prayerful and beautiful. I am grateful to my assistant Anne Silversey who makes sure no detail is left to chance. I am grateful to everyone on our maintenance staff who takes care of more than I can list here! I am especially grateful to everyone in our Music Ministry under the very capable direction of Craig and Dorothy Limey. Thank you for all your good, holy and dedicated work! I am also very grateful to Ray Vorisek and his crew at Heights Florist for the beautiful Easter decorations. They have truly made us a beautiful and prayerful environment. Thank you! And thanks to all of you for your generous donations to the Easter Flower Fund.I also want to take this time to thank Steve and Bev Kass, Milagros Anto and everyone on the RCIA teams for all their great work with our RCIA candidates. The candidates were all received into the church last night at the Easter Vigil. Thank you and welcome!Happy Easter, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Campaign for Human DevelopmentApril 23, 2017

Over 46 Million people in the United States live in poverty. This collection supports programs to

empower people to identify and address the obstacles they face as they work to lift themselves out of poverty. There is an envelope in your monthly packet; by supporting this collection you give people a hand up, not a handout.

You may learn more about this campaign at www.usccb.org/cchd/collection.

Renee Clark, is based on tabloid television and courtroom drama. The play was infused with drama and humor. Within the play, commercial breaks written by the students were performed. The Drama Club includes students from grades 5-8. This is the fifth production for Ruth Mirabella, our Director. She does an amazing job working with our students.

Juan 20:1-9
