Giving Tuesday

Our annual Giving Tuesday appeal is a time when we ask our congregation to

consider giving a gift, no matter how small,

to support our parish before the holiday

season. Our hope is to raise over $15,000 for our general parish

needs, restoration and maintenance of our two churches, subscription

fees for FORMED and MagnifiKid! (for our youth), an additional kiosk

to share communications for Respect Life, and funds to subsidize the

tuition for Religious Education for those families who cannot afford it. We count on your financial support to help Sacred Heart continue

to grow and thrive, especially after a difficult pandemic.

Go to shgparish.org/give to donate. Even $5, or the price of that

second cup of coffee, goes a long way in helping us meet our goal!

Tuesday, November 30 5:00 pm — 8:00 pm

Food Drive for St. Ann’s

Our staff will be out in our church courtyard area collecting your

non-perishable food donations for St. Ann’s Parish.

Drive around the front loop and we will unload your car for you.

During this holiday season, the need is great for those in our

communities less fortunate than we are. Thank you for your support.

Collections also welcome this weekend in the Narthex.

Dear Parishioners,

Advent is now upon us! I know some places are

celebrating Christmas already and Costco has had trees up

before Halloween, but I invite you to enter into the true spirit of

Advent. The first two weeks focus on the Second Coming of

Christ in time. The Scriptures contain beautiful prophecies and

the great figure of John the Baptist. The second two weeks of

Advent focus on Jesus’ first coming in time 2,000 years ago and

that beautiful demonstration of love by God the Father as He

sent His Son into our world.

We provided booklets last weekend on Christ the King to

help all of us pray during this season. Take some time from the

hustle and bustle and demands of the season to sit quietly for

even 5 minutes and reflect on the beauty of what God does for

us and has done for us in His Son. Make an Advent wreath, light

the candles and meditate on the wonder of Light coming into our darkness. Participate in our Advent giving programs to

remember to reach out, and not in, during this season. Come

early to church and spend a few minutes in quiet prayer. We do

not have to let the world make us crazy. Instead let us transform ourselves as we watch, ponder and wait.

Adopt-A-Family

Take an ornament and return your wrapped gift by the

weekend of December 11/12 for neighbors in need at St. Ambrose and Catholic Charities. Please attach the ornament

to the package. Gift cards and checks can be left at the

Welcome Desk or Parish Center.

Parish Food Drive

Leave your non-perishable food items in the Main Church for

St. Ann’s Parish during this weekend or drop off to our staff in

front of the churches from 5-8 pm on November 30th.

Giving Tuesday November 30

Donate now or on Giving Tuesday at shgparish.org/give.

Funds collected benefit the beautification of the Blessed

Mother outside area, FORMED and MagnifiKid! subscriptions,

Religious Education subsidies, a Respect Life kiosk, and the preservation and restoration of our churches.

Little Bethlehem Hand Carved Religious Items

For Sale After All Masses December 4/5

Little Bethlehem Christians is a group that represents over 300 Christian and Catholic families who live in Bethlehem,

Jerusalem, the Shepherd’s field and the Holy Land area,

and they make their livings as Olive Wood Carvers.

After all Masses next weekend, the group represented by the

family will display a collection of hand carved Olive Wood

religious items for sale. The profit goes to support the

existence of Christianity in the land of Christ.
