Every Secret Thing The character is in the poster is alone and surrounded by a lot of looking room. This makes her appear vulnerable and lonely, creating sympathy within the audience. Her face is blocked which creates distance between her and the audience as they cannot connect with her, this creates a sense of mystery. The long-shot portrays how alone the character is, making her seem in danger and vulnerable, therefore, creating a mysterious feel. The dark clouds that are in the background connote eeriness and mystery, and therefore use pathetic fallacy to portray that something bad/dangerous happens in the film. There is a police car backgrounded in the mise- en-scene of this poster which is associated with crime and danger, therefore enhancing the mysterious feel of the poster and intriguing the viewer as it makes them feel sympathy and also wonder what has happened. This push-chair is laying on it’s side which creates disjointedness and mystery.
