“…Every Place Where You Set Your Foot”

• Beginning in God’s presence

• Changed by His glory

• Sent out everywhere He is about to come

• Carrying His presence with us

• Transforming nations

Master Plan—Prayer

• Strategic Element of Church Planting• Partners with God in His work• Prepares the worker as well as the

harvest• Prevents unnecessary hindrances• Provides resources for the work

Prayer Prepares the Way into God’s Presence

• Luke 10:1 The disciples began in Jesus’ presence and were sent out everywhere He was about to come

• Commanded to “lift up their eyes to the fields”

• Commanded to pray the Lord of Harvest to “thrust forth” laborers

Heavenly Protocol:Thanksgiving, Praise & Worship

• 1 Peter 2:9; Psalm 100:4• Thanksgiving opens the

gate into His throne room.

• Praise ushers us into His courts.

• We first minister to God in the holy place.

• Then we minister to the people.

We offer spiritual sacrifices to God.

• Ourselves—spirit, soul & body (Rom. 12:1)

• Our substance—tithes, offerings, meeting practical needs of those around us (Mal. 3:10; Gal. 6:9-10)

• Our thanksgiving (Lev. 7:12; Phil. 4:6)

• Our praise (Heb. 13:15)• A Broken & Contrite Heart

(Ps. 51:17)• Joy (Ps. 27:6)

Disciples respond to God in radical, passionate worship!

• God inhabits the praises of His people. (Ps. 22:3)

• In His presence, we are changed & empowered. (Isa. 6:1-8)

• In God’s presence, we know His heart & receive direction. (Ps. 32:8)

• We are sent where He is about to come. (Luke 10:1b)

Lift Up Your Eyes and Look at the Fields

• “’My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:34-35

• Know the conditions of the fields to successfully produce crops.

• Put our feet in the place God calls us

• Really LOOK at the condition

“Specificity yields fervency; fervency yields results.”

• “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

• Praying on site with insight helps us to pray specifically.

• As we recognize the condition of the lost, we pray with urgency & desperation.

• God responds to the fervent prayers of the righteous.

Harvest Field Survey

• Understanding the harvest field

• Recognizing spiritual conditions present

• Seeing the harvest force that is available

How?• Use a map of your focal area• Mark sites such as churches, temples, liquor

stores, idols, houses of prostitution, crime areas, places of government, education, business, religion/culture, and community gatherings

• Use a calendar to mark festivals/pilgrimmages• Use a timeline to note

historical events, battles, community woundings, etc.

The enemy knows where you are; but do you know where he is?

Prayerwalking

• Always go in teams of at least 2

• Always have a “prayer shield”

• Pray “on site with insight”

“Specificity yields fervency; fervency brings results.”

Purposes of Prayerwalking

• Worship– Recognize & exalt God

where He is not yet known or praised

– To extend His kingdom

Purposes of Prayerwalking• Warfare

– To call on Jesus to release captives bound in spiritual darkness (2 Cor. 4:4)

– To ask God to contend with evil, knowing He alone is able to bring all things into submission

– As a prophetic act to possess by faith the inheritance we are receiving from God (Josh. 1:3)

Purposes of Prayerwalking• Welcome

– To Go before Jesus to prepare the way, ushering in His kingdom (Luke 10:1)

– To give a foretaste of worship that will be when He comes to reign among all peoples

Principles of Prayerwalking

• Prepare– Study the area– Find out who lives there,

how many, look for any significant sites

– Present yourself to God as His instrument

– Lift up your eyes and LOOK

– Be alert for people of peace

Principles of Prayerwalking

• Partner– Pray/prayerwalk

with a partner– Always have a

prayer shield– Debrief together at

the end, recording insights and observations

• Praise– Begin by praising

God and focus on Him and what He is showing you

– Bind the enemy from hindering or distracting you

– Do only what you see the Father doing as Jesus did

Principles of Prayerwalking

• Pray– Bind the strongman

and loose the Holy Spirit’s activity in the people and the area

teach you what to say• Lk 10:9 Heal the sick,

raise the dead, proclaim the Kingdom
