• Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president, faced great struggles with a divided country during the Civil War. But he had great determination and a never give up attitude. “Always bear in mind,” said the man responsible for ending slavery, “that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”

• A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. To use Edison’s words, it is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. As your school counselor, I’m here to help you

successful in finding what works for you is a goal, or a plan.

Write it down…• One simple rule is to set specific small

goals and write them down.• What is it that you want to achieve this

You will never achieve your goals if you don’t believe in yourself. You must have a positive attitude and use positive self talk. It is vital in being successful!

Seriously…• Take some time to write a love letter to

yourself. You are the most important person you will ever know. What do you love about yourself? What great qualities do you have to offer the world?

• The more you put in to each task you are assigned, the more you will benefit from it!

• Bring down your love letters to Mrs. Hernandez and hold onto your goals. Put them in a place that you will look back and focus on what you need to do to be successful. Make the most of every day and work hard.
