More Evernote Awesomeness

• Evernote also has the ability to recognize

printed and handwritten text within

snapshots and images.

• Add it to your Evernote account, give it a few

minutes to process; then, search for the text.

How Information Is Organized in

Evernote• Notes: Everything added to Evernote is saved as a note. You

can have as many notes as you like. Each notes can

contain text, images, audio, PDFs, digital ink, and attached

files (Evernote Premium only).

• Notebooks: Notes are organized within notebooks. New

accounts start with a single notebook. You can create as

many notebooks as you like. You may also choose to share

notebooks; shared notebooks have RSS feeds.

• Tags: Tags are keywords, or labels, that you manually

associate with a note. Notes can have multiple tags. Assign

the same tags to notes on similar topics, and you will be

able to quickly filter your notes later using those tags.

Page 17: Evernote for Libraries and Librarians

How Information Is Organized in

Evernote• Attributes: Attributes are auto-generated information about

notes. These include creation dates; note contents, such as

file attachments and to-do checkboxes; and information on

the source of the note –whether it was emailed in or

clipped from the web.

• Saved Search: If you find yourself performing the same

search over and over, you should create a Saved Search.

Put in all your search criteria, then save it. Now you can

repeat the search without having to re-enter the criteria. A

Saved Search may contain any combination of keywords,

tags, and other filters.
