Insulating glass units (or “IG units”) improve thermal performance by providing a thermal break – two or more lites separated by a sealed air space. This enables the glass to meet two very different requirements –keeping heat in during colder weather and keeping heat out during warmer weather.

Argon gas is most commonly used in the ordinary incandescent light bulb. It is clear, non toxic, and non flammable. The space between the two panes of glass is filled with Argon gas, because thermal conductivity of this inert gas is lower than air. Result? Heat loss is reduced and energy efficiency is improved.
