Eventure Newsletter #3 The turning of the first sod! Dear all, it has begun. After a year and a half of preparations, Glenn, René, Magnus together with local employees began the construction of the area/school in early October. The focus from the start is to build hammock houses for the 20 volunteers who will arrive around Nov. 1. We have hired 30 local workers, and they bring any prejudice about laziness among African men to shame. They really work hard, and it is a great pleasure to work with them. The pictures below were taken in recent weeks. Recently we have also had our "Investment Act" finally approved by the Zambian government. This is essential to get an extended lease of the land from 14 years to 99 years. Furthermore, it is important in relation to permits and potential exemption from import duty. Most importantly, this approval is a general endorsement of the entire project by the Zambian government. With this Investment Act, we have committed ourselves to invest 500.000 USD during the next five years in the country. Support Support for Project Zambia is still incredibly high. The association Eventure has recently reached 400 members, and has to date collected 250.000 DKK. Eventure has already sent 200.000 DKK to Zambia for material procurement. Recently BankInvest supported the project with 50,000 DKK. The Fundraise Group (Louise, Lars, Vanessa, Henry, Jacob, Rebecca, Nete, Line) are working towards, that next time we write to you, there will be many more good news on that front. The association has now been approved by the Danish Tax Office under the Assessment Act § 8A, which means that contributions of between 500 DKK and 15.500 DKK are tax deductible. The association will submit the relevant information to the tax authorities. We still lack 700.000 DKK to reach our goal, so if you know anyone (company or private individual) who would like to support the good cause, please write to us at [email protected].

beautifulrhythmsandteachingusallAfricandancesteps.Themanintheredshirt,belowright,isKimFrandsen,whoin2011willbike12,000kmfromCairotoCapeTowninthe“TourdeAfrica”.Kimwillusetheracetocollect

contributionsinathomefromDenmark.Contributions,withwhichhehaschosentosupportProjectZambia.

Doctorsreadytogo

HealthisavitalpartofProjectZambia.Wehavethereforecreatedagroupintheassociationconsistingoffourdoctors/medicalstudents(Mie,Julie,EbbeandErik).FromthisgroupErikandEbbearegoingtoZambiaonthe

27thofDecembertospendthreeweeksmappingthehealthconditionswithaprofessionalperspective.Thisisdonebothtoprovidebetterinformationabouthealth/diseaseissuesforthemanyvolunteerswhowillbe

arriving,andtogetabetterknowledgeaboutwhichcommunityprojectsProjectZambiacandointhelocalarea,whenwegetsofar.Above,middle,EbbeisgivinganintroductiontothehealthgroupattheEventureDay.
