Dr. K. Balasubramaniam memoriallecture on May 10

The People’s Movement for the Rights of Patients (PMRP) will conduct the Dr. K. Balasubramaniam memorial lecture on May 10 at 9.30 pm at the Centre for Society and Religion (Fatima Church premises, 281, Deans Road, Maradana). Dr. Balasubramaniam, was associated with Prof. Senaka Bibile for two decades to restore the health service with the well-being of patients being the priority.

President, Sri Lanka Medical Council, Prof. Carlo Fonseka, Consultant Physician Dr. Ananda Wijewick-rama and attorney-at-law and barrister C.Warnasuriya will speak on the proposed legislation for a national medicinal drugs policy aimed at making quality drugs available to the people at affordable prices.

Krishnamurti talk

A recorded public talk on “What brings about disor-der in relationship?” delivered by the late Indian sage J. Krishnamurti will be replayed at the Study Centre, Duwa Road, Beddagana, Kotte today at 10.30 a.m. It is organised by the Krishnamurti Centre, Sri Lanka Inc.

Fifteen village tanks in Panduwasnuwara in the Kurunegala district will be restored this year at a cost of Rs. 50million.
