    EcoBlitz is your chance to lend nature a helping hand and to show some love for the regional parks you hike, cycle, swim or picnic at the rest of the year.EcoBlitz started in 2014 as a one-day event and has grown to a week-long celebration with lots of hands-on activities across Metro Vancouver. Here are some of the fun and rewarding events you can take part in:

    • Planting to restore a pond for frogs and salamanders at Pacific Spirit Regional Park

    • Planting to establish a Nature Discovery Wetland at Aldergrove Regional Park

    • Building a fence to help protect important riverside habitat at Burnaby Lake Regional Park

    • Planting dune plants to restore a damaged area at Boundary Bay Regional Park

    • Helping with wildlife camera monitoring at Widgeon Marsh Regional Park Reserve

    Metro Vancouver’s Water Services department manages three closed watersheds (Capilano, Seymour and Coquitlam) and an open recreation water reserve: the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR). Programs showcase the importance of drinking water and its source.
