BIG SISTERS
Contact: Lindsey Stoppacher We offer a "Big Sister" to paid MMM members that are pregnant and/or are new moms of multiples during the first 3 months after giving birth. We pair you up with a member that has multiples like you have (or will have). The idea is for the big sister to check in
with her little sister often— to offer support, advice, help, etc. as needed. Then she reports to the group at each meeting on how her "little sister" is doing. The little sister can also contact her big sister as needed. Please contact Lindsey to get you hooked up with a "big sister" today! If your multiples are over a year old and are interested in becoming a “big sister” contact Lindsey today!

For the past few years, the CNY Fertility Center, owned and directed by
Dr. Robert Kiltz, has held a patient appreciation day at the Rosamond
Gifford Zoo. Annemarie and Maggie Marnell (age 7) were very excited to
greet the visitors at the Zoo parties. The girls handed out the stuffed
animals, and enjoyed meeting other twins.
Annemarie asked Dr. Kiltz if they could start a twins club. Of course Dr.
Kiltz said “Yes”, but suggested that they include ALL CNY Fertility kids. A
GREAT IDEA WAS BORN!
Their first event took place on Saturday, October 4, 2008. It was a “meet
and greet” with Dr. Rob’s horse Geronimo at Claire Affleck Training in
Auburn. The kids had a fun filled day at the farm, with many activities,
including a magician, pumpkin painting, face painting, and snacks.
At the event, Dr. Kiltz took a survey to get ideas for future CNY Fertility
Kid’s Club outings. Some preliminary ideas that they may work on include
monthly meetings, outings, pen pals, fund raisers, guest speakers, kids
yoga, kids cooking, arts and crafts, Kid’s Club newsletter and kid’s birthday
club.
The CNY Fertility Kids Club vision is to create a safe, healthy, nurturing
environment in which children can build character, relationships, creativity
and community support. For information on joining the club, please con-
tact Chris Briel at 315-378-7317 or e-mail at [email protected]

From the pages of “Mixing it Up with Multiple
Moms Mingle”
I love the taste of pumpkin but don’t really like the texture of
traditional pumpkin pie. This recipe was given to me by an
old family friend years ago. The combination of pumpkin pie
flavor with the whipped cream and ice cream has become one
of my family’s favorite Thanksgiving desserts. Leslie Petty
Frozen Pumpkin Pie
1 Keebler graham cracker crust (extra serving size)
1 c. canned pumpkin Dash of salt
3/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream 1 c. Heavy Cream
Soften ice cream slightly. Spread ice cream in pie crust so that
it is about 2/3’s full. Place filled crust in freezer.. Mix together
remaining ingredients except heavy cream. In a separate bowl
beat heavy cream til it is a whipped cram consistency. Fold
pumpkin and spice mixture into whipped cream. Remove
crust from freezer and mound pumpkin mixture over the ice
cream. Cover and return to freezer for at least 2 hours.
