Last Day Events, p. 177When the shaking comes, by the introduction of false theories,these surface readers, anchored nowhere, are like shiftingsand. They slide into any position to suit the tenor of theirfeelings of bitterness.--TM 112 (1897). {LDE 177.1}

Sprit of Prophecy Volume 4, p. 422Fearful is the issue to which the world is to be brought. The

powers of earth, uniting to war against the commandments of God, will decree that no man may buy or sell, save he that hasthe mark of the beast, and, finally, that whoever refuses toreceive the mark shall be put to death. [REV. 13:15, 17.] Theword of God declares: "If any man worship the beast and hisimage, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, thesame shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is

poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation."[REV. 14:9, 10.] But not one is made to feel the wrath of Goduntil the truth has been brought in contact with his mind andconscience, and has been rejected. There are many in thechurches of our country who have never, even in this land of light and knowledge, had an opportunity to hear the specialtruths for this time. The obligation of the fourth commandmenthas never been set before them in its true light. Jesus readsevery heart, and tries every motive. The decree is not to beurged upon the people blindly. Every one is to have sufficientlight to make his decision intelligently. The Sabbath will be the

Early Writings, p. 33I saw that God had children who do not see and keep theSabbath. They have not rejected the light upon it. And at thecommencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with theHoly Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more

Angels are hurryingto and fro in Heaven. An angel returning from the earthannounces that his work is done, that the seal of God [SEEAPPENDIX, NOTE 9.] has been placed upon his people. Then

Jesus ceases his intercession in the sanctuary above. He liftshis hands, and with a loud voice says, "It is done;" and all theangelic host lay off their crowns as he makes the solemnannouncement: "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; andhe which is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous,let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holystill." inhabitants of the earth. In that fearful time the righteous mustlive in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. Therestraint which has been upon the wicked is removed, andSatan has entire control of the finally impenitent. The powerattending the last warning has enraged them, and their angeris kindled against all who have received the message. Thepeople of God are then plunged into those scenes of affliction

birthright by fraud, God would not have heard his prayer andmercifully preserved his life. So in the time of trouble, if the

people of God had unconfessed sins to appear before themwhile tortured with fear and anguish, they would beoverwhelmed; despair would cut off their faith, and they couldnot have confidence to plead with God for deliverance. Butwhile they have a deep sense of their unworthiness, they haveno concealed wrongs to reveal.
