Hever Castle; the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Fortified withcrenellations, a moat and a portcullis. The 400-year-old defensivestructure, a British icon, creates the perfect backdrop for Commando.

Car park opens at 0745. On approaching the Castle, drive through thelarge brown wooden gates between the MAIN GATES of Hever Castle andHever Church, following the signs for COMMANDO. Disabled parkingavailable on-site.

SPECTATOR COURSE

SPECTATOR ENTRY FEE

As the course circumnavigates the Hever Castle estate there are several spectating areas, along with the spectacular Hever Castle gardens and visitors’ entertainment. The event village will be a small hive of activity with music, retail outlets, delicious food and a bar, as well asRoli’s famous drop-in Survival courses throughout the day.

£12 adults £6 juniors (6 – 15years)Hever Castle can accommodate large numbers of visitors. It is not an event requirement to wear PPE while on site in the open air.

CHECK-IN AND START TIMESCHECK-IN TIME: 1 HOUR BEFORE YOUR START TIME!

Please arrive at the Entry point 1 hour before your start time ready to present your QR code for scanning (found in your Confirmation email).

Recruits will be checked in, collect their event wristband and Commando T-shirt, along with any ‘extras’ pre-purchased.

If a member of your group has been assigned a different start time, please contact us [email protected]. ANYONE TAKING ON AN EXTRA LAP (THE 12K COURSE) CANNOT BEGIN AFTER 11:30 ON SATURDAY AND 10:30 ON SUNDAY.

Any pre-purchased extras are claimed in the Registration Tent and then collected from the Equipment Store. A record of extras is included in the Start Time wave sheets (see links below).

There are changing facilities and a bag drop, as well as hot showers! Remember a dry set of warm clothes to change into and a wet kit bag for your muddy gear.

All RECRUITS MUST ATTEND THE WARM-UP!- Be ready, equipped, suitably attired, camo applied.- Warm-up begins 15 minutes before your given start time.

Strongly recommended for the rough terrain:- Long sleeved top- Leggings, cargo pants, combat trousers- Trail shoes or military style boots- Towel and change of warm clothes- Wet kit bag

You will be issued with kit:- Commando wristband worn throughout the event - Commando T-shirt worn over your long-sleeved top

- Warm up with a hot Ribena at the finish line - Enjoy one of our famous field showers- Change in our heated changing tents- Come and savour some tasty warm food, a beverage and some good music with your fellow recruits in the Mess Tent.

COMMANDO EXPERIENCES

GET MORE OUT OF YOUR COMMANDO EXPERIENCE ! IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY BOOKED YET. . . .

Take on the two-lap toughie; 12km, 52 obstacles (limited availability).

Do it like a Commando! Carry 21lbs of webbing and wooden riffle or a Bergen; a 35lbs camo rucksack.

Bivouac experience; spend Saturday night in the wild of Hever Castle Estate.

Survival experience; 3hr Commando in-depth instruction on outdoor survival 14:00–17:00 Saturday and 12:00–15:00 Sunday.

Event Day free drop-in survival courses; Commando instruction on the basics of outdoor survival: 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 on Saturday and 09:00, 11:00 on Sunday.

Your challenge will be to overcome 26obstacles; whilst Royal Marines in the fieldhave overcome many more. Their battledoesn’t always stop there as they have toadapt to injuries and the impact of seeing suchdevastating circumstances. There is still timeto set up a Just Giving page and fundraise forThe Royal Marines Charity. If you raise £50you would be helping these fellow men andwomen.
