Summary:

Cyber security is a major global challenge, among others because of the growing number of

cyber attacks and incidents which threaten individuals, businesses and states. Besides being a

global challenge, however, cyber security is also a particularly pertinent topic for Indian

Summary: It was a two day central hackathon programme organised by Idealabs at J-

Hub ,JNTUH kukatpally .

total 40 teams have participated at India level from which five teams of our students have

taken part in this competition for IBC 2018.Each team has presented their Idea to the

Jury.

Problem Statement: In pharmaceutical supply chain there are many counterfeit medicines and

many drugs are not properly stored in transit. The counterfeit drug market accounts to an

estimated 1 million deaths annually

Problem Statement:

Bug Bounty Programs promotes security of enterprise ecosystems by encouraging third-

party cybersecurity experts to review and report vulnerabilities present in the system.

In a Bug Bounty Program, participation is motivated mainly by rewards and reputation of

the company involved.

Issue #1: There is no transparency of information between companies and bug reporters.

Issue #2: There are chances of manipulation of bounty transaction details at the time of

invoice creation either by intentional or unintentional input mistakes.

key points: Total 16 students have participated in IBC hackathon, 2018 at India Level.

Remarks: Our college students of team: 02 stood at 13th place among 300 participants.

Topic:World Blockchain Hackathon 2018

Event Date: 31st August 2018 – 1

st September 2018

Venue: Vaagdevi College of Engineering, Warangal

Key points: three teams students have participated from II and III year (CSE)

Summary:

World Blockchain Hackathon 2018 was conducted at Vaagdevi College of Engineering,

Warangal on 31st of August and 1

st of September, 2018.Over 1500 students, divided into teams

of 5 members each, had come to participate in the event which was co-sponsored by Geeksup,

IBM, IEEE Computer Society, and other well-renown technical bodies.The event’s main

objective was to bring to the attention of the future engineers of tomorrow regarding the

importance of Blockchain technology, how its growing and how the market demands for

Blockchain developers.

Sessions:

Day 1:

Day 1 started with a briefing session with mentors from Geeksup and IBM explaining the

technology of Blockchain and its applications. They emphasized on the demand the current

industries had for engineers experienced in Blockchain technology and encouraged the

participants to keep developing themselves in this technology.

They later explained the tasks each teams had to complete for the first session, which includes

Deciding on an idea to implement Blockchain for the benefit of the community.

Designing a digital portfolio for at least one team member. This is similar to creating an

online HTML resume.The teams sat in programming laboratories for the day and were

able to complete both these tasks. Digital Portfolio was made using the HTML template

provided by the Hackathon team itself.

Day 2:

The teams returned to the laboratories for the next session of the Hackathon. For Day 2, they

were asked to prepare a chart representing their project idea using a modeling process called

“Design Thinking”, which contains reader-friendly explanations, pictorial storyboard,

application prototype on paper and plenty of visual design.

Along with this, the teams were asked to edit some Blockchain code template to create their own

Blockchain on Javascript. They also had to make a PowerPoint presentation depicting their

problem statement, solution and how it differed from existing solutions.

Evaluation took place later in the day using the tasks given as criteria, through which they

selected top 50 teams to reap the benefits.
