Effective Editing

We used continuity editing in both shoots however, we have linked the shots together in a way that means that the whole opening flows together much better than in the preliminary task. We have also used fade much more effectively than in the preliminary task.

Framing

In the preliminary task we had difficulty with framing the shot, with at times the camera being shaken. In our real opening piece we used much more stable shots to help make our piece much better. Framing is very important in creating the atmosphere in our piece.

Using Effects

Effects were essential in our real opening to film. We have used the black and white editing effect, along with the blue tint. We have also used costume effects in our opening something we didn’t have in the preliminary task. We have done this through the fake blood that we have used.

Mise en Scene

We have been much more sensible with mise en scene than our preliminary task which was meant to be much more of a comedy compared to our thriller based opening that we did for the real opening sequence. This has helped very much assisted in creating the thriller atmosphere we where trying achieve.

Sound

This is something that we did not use in our preliminary task. But we have added from the internet. This again helps create the atmosphere of the thriller genre.

Creation of Credits

Credits in our piece have been laid over the top of the film footage. In our preliminary task they followed on after the footage had finished. This was an essential part to the opening sequence. We also did not want to interrupt the footage so instead of breaking up the piece we decided to lay it over the action.

Use of Lighting

We have been able to use much better in our real opening sequence than we where in our preliminary task. This has allowed us make our sequence look astatically more pleasing than our preliminary task did. We were also able to manipulate the artificial light we used to have it beamed onto a specific area, unlike in our preliminary task in which we used natural light.
