• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? I feel my media product is quite different to other media products in the ways it has been made and also in the ways it develops and challenges the conventions of real media products I feel that my media product challenges media products by changing the norm of what usually happens in a music video such as there not being much of a narrative to the song or a story in any way and I feel this challenges other media products as other media products usually have a story in their music video which often relates to the song such as starting over by Killswitch Engage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-rIHFbOSDQ ) and this song speaks of two people forgetting their past and starting over and the video which accompanies this also shows two people getting together or trying to get to each other and I feel that my music video is more of shots that suit the specific genre of the song instead of a narrative or a story to accompany the music and I feel that my song further challenges the conventions of a media product by almost being over burdened with effects as there is almost an effect on each bit of footage used in the music video and I feel this greatly challenges the norms of a media product as in my specific music genre effects are not used as greatly as I have used them and they are only normally used for transitions and is quite rare to see a music video with such heavy effects as I have used. One of the other things I feel I have challenged the conventions of a media product is by not having any dialogue actually for the music video that wouldn’t normally be in the song if it was just listened to without the video and an example of this would be (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lK4cX5xGiQ ) Tenacious D’s tribute which uses dialogue and sounds specifically for the video throughout the entirety of the video. Another thing I feel that challenged the conventions of a media product from my own specific music video is the variety of camera angles which in a convention music video would usually mostly by close ups and medium close

One of the other things I feel I have challenged the conventions of a media product is by not having any dialogue actually for the music video that wouldn’t normally be in the song if it was just listened to without the video and an example of this would be (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lK4cX5xGiQ) Tenacious D’s tribute which uses dialogue and sounds specifically for the video throughout the entirety of the video.Another thing I feel that challenged the conventions of a media product from my own specific music video is the variety of camera angles which in a convention music video would usually mostly by close ups and medium close ups for quite short periods of time and I feel like of have broken this convention by having longer periods of time on screen for certain shots and also different camera angles which wouldn’t normally be seen in a conventional video such as a long distance shot from the side or a shot though the characters eyes in the music video.I feel my media product has also developed conventions with some of the shots being used could be used in a normal music video and is just a standard medium close up for a few seconds or a view of an instrument or a close up of a drummer hitting a drum at a certain time to fit the song.

• How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? I feel my main product and ancillary texts are very effective together as they help how successful the task has been with the research that has been done and how it has contributed to the media product and also shows what people would like to see or what they expect to see in a media product and I feel this has helped me by giving me a clear understanding on how to challenge the conventions and how to develop the forms and conventions of what people expect from a media product. This has allowed me to be able to better suit my audience with what they would like to see in a media product and feel this has made the combination of my main product and ancillary texts very effective.

• What have you learned from your audience feedback? There is a lot I have learnt from my audience feedback, I have learnt that the specific age group I am aiming for has a very diverse range of preferred musical genre's and styles, I feel this age group and my target audience has very different views on how a music video should be or what should happen or if it should follow or challenge the conventions though it has also gave me specific responses of what I should do which I feel has been helpful and this has helped me learn that there is often too much diversity to please everyone entirely and is often better to have some understanding of what you want to do and try to incorporate some of the ideas given from the audience instead of only doing what they say or only doing what you want regardless of their help.

• How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

I feel the use of media technologies has helped me a lot during the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages as it is literally in everything I do such as blogger (social networking) and I have created my blog on this website to show my work which I have done and a lot of other software's have been used too such as google docs which I used to create my questionnaire which I feel is quite successful with the 34 responses I got, media technologies helped me through the entire creation of my media product in all stages from using the cameras to shoot the first bit of footage to using final cut pro on the industry standard mac computers to edit my music video and also using photoshop to make the other parts of my media product such as the digipak or the magazine advertisement. Media technologies has been a key component in the creation of this as without it I could not have contacted my actor at certain times to come help me make the video such as texts or social networking. In construction and research I was able to do research because of media technologies and this allowed me to construct documents of research which I could then upload to my blog to be view and accessed from anywhere.
