  • 1. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

2. To begin with I sat down with 6 member from my target audience and played them my music video. Directly after watching it I asked them to fill out a questionnaire. 1. Do you feel as though the lack of narrative is compensated by the range of props used throughout my music video? 2. I originally planned on having a black and white effect on my images for the magazine advert and CD cover do you think that I should have stuck to my original plan? Why ? 3. 3- Do you think I have used a suitable range of each shots in my music video for the typical pop genre. 4. Is there anything you would improve? 5. Which was your favourite location? Bedroom, Garage or Studio? 6. Did you instantly identify the codes and conventions of a typical pop music video? 7. Finally on a scale of one to five (five being the most) what would you rate my music video. 3. 1- Do you feel as though the lack of narrative is compensated by the range of props used throughout my music video? main-titleYes NoThis pie chart simply represents that 6 people agreed that the props did compensate and 1 person decided that they didnt approve of this. 4. 2- I originally planned on having a black and white effect on my images for the magazine advert and CD cover do you think that I should have stuck to my original plan? Why ?main-titleNo YesFor this result it appears although everyone chose No. Some of the reasons they gave to back up their answers were; They colours are feminine and with out them the cover would be boring. The colours compliment the colours of the texts therefore I think you made the correct decision. The colours are what brings the picture to life and without them you wouldnt be able to see the detail in her makeup of how feminine her clothing is. 5. 3- Do you think I have used a suitable range of each shots in my music video for the typical pop genre. main-titleYes NoFour out of the six members of my target audience have said that I have used a suitable range. I asked the other two why they answered no and they both suggested that I should have included more extra close ups as I had planned to in my animatic. 6. 4- Is there anything you would improve? main-titleYes NoOnly one person said that they would make an improvement and why I asked why they responded. You needed to have more extra close ups of her singing and also more of the dancing into synch as I found these aspects to be the most successful in your music video. 7. 5- Which was your favourite location? Bedroom, Garage or Studio? no. of people 5 4 3no. of people2 1 0BedroomGarageStudioThis results table simply displays the answers of my six target audience members. The garage scene appears to be the most popular and this was due to the amount of dancing in this shoot and also the backing dancers, dancing along subtly in the background. 8. 6- Did you instantly identify the codes and conventions of a typical pop music video? no. of people 6 4no. of people2 0 YesNoI was extremely happy with my results for this as it shows that I have successfully created a music video which contains codes and conventions of a typical pop music video. For me this was my main achievement as I did a lot of research into this. 9. 7- Finally on a scale of one to five (five being the most) what would you rate my music video.no. of peple 5 4 3 2 1no. of peple0 0.5 1 1.5 2 2.5 3Lastly to finish off the questionnaire I asked the most obvious question. I think that the overall rating of my music video was extremely fair as this results in giving my music video an average rating of 4 out of 5. 10. By doing this questionnaire I have learned a lot of valuable things such as where I went wrong and where I went right. I was very pleased with the results as most of them were fairly positive. The most successful point for m would have to be that everyone recognised the codes and conventions of a typical pop genre music video. If I could improve my music video I would defiantly replace some medium shots with extra close ups of her lip synching as this makes the audience feel more intimate with her and gives them the impression that they will be able to relate to the lyrics. Overall I think my music video went very well I am extremely pleased although I know what I could do next time round in order to make my video appear even more professional.
