evaluation – question 7
TRANSCRIPT
Evaluation – Question 7 Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Things you learnt in the
preliminary taskShot reverse shot – in this we learnt to cut between two or more
people in a conversation, for example going from one person
talking and then to the other person who is then speaking back to the first person
Match on action – in this the camera’s perspective changes
during a scene and the scene continues to flow
180 degree rule – in this we learnt to show the location of where
the film was being set without showing any of the camera or
technical equipment.
How did these help with your
main production? The shot reverse shot helped us change between people in a conversation and the audience wouldn’t miss any part of the dialogue from either of the people involved.
The match on action helped us with our main production because we could then make sure that our film clip would flow with the camera’s perspective changing.
The 180 degree rule helped us make sure that we were able to show where our film was located but without showing any of the technical equipment.
What was easy/hard during the
preliminary task and how did these help
your film opening? The hardest thing in the preliminary task was the
match on action, making sure that when the door
was being opened and closed it was by the same
hand each time, and the chair was pulled out with
the same hand. The easiest thing would be the shot
reverse shot as it only took a few shots of each person
talking and then editing them together was easy.
These helped with our film opening because it was
easier the second time around as it wouldn’t matter if
we made mistakes because we knew how to fix them
Research and planning section
We had more of an understanding of all
the shots we could use and how to use
them to the best of our ability.
These we our first two ideas for
the main 2 minute film
opening as a group
Construction section
We found it easier to shoot as we were
in a group with people that we got on
with and we all helped each other, and
we split the editing up between us so
that we would all have a chance at
doing little bits
These are print screens of parts of our storyboard for
the 2 minute film opening
