Evaluation question 6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?During the process of constructing my product of the opening sequence for my film, it was vital that we knew how to use the equipment. During film we used a HD digital camera to film all the entire scenes. We found it easy to view, rewind and edit on the camera as we had learned this during our lessons. We also used a dolly to make sure that the camera was steady and perfect, although for some scenes we intentionally made sure that it wasnt steady as this was part of the plan and gave it a good effect due to the part of the scene and it fit in with the noir genre. Finally we used a tripod to make sure that whilst holding the camera, it was straight and we could make it easier for ourselves when filming. However at the production stage we realised that technology wasnt the most important thing but the most important thing was having a quiet set where nobody was talking and making sure that the filming was at the right shot at the right time.

To edit the opening sequence that we shot, we used Apple final cut pro x which is non linear video editing software. This allows users to log and transfer video onto a hard drive which can be either internal or external, so it can be edited, processed and outputted into different formats. The film was uploaded using a wire that connected from the camera to the Mac. The Mac contains the software that we used to edit our product. Finally we used YouTube to upload our final product. The different types of digital technologies we used had a massive impact as it allowed us to be more creative with our editing of our opening sequence.
