Tutorials really helped me learn the basics of

how to use a camera in the best way with the

best settings. There are so many tutorials to get

different looks for an image. One of the most

important things is to get the focus of the photo

right. I also learnt how important shutter speed,

exposure, aperture and ISO are in manipulating

a picture in terms of lighting and the movement

of the image being taken.

MEDIA

Existing media of magazines such as ‘The Fly’

helped me to understand that there are various

ways in which a magazine can be distributed. Not

just though being bought shops but also they can

be offered for free in shops as well as ordered and

read online. Through the convergence of apps and

phones it enables the reader to access articles

and newspapers all the time though their phones.

Therefore buying magazines in shop is not the

only way magazines can be accessible to the

public.

PHOTOSHOP

With having had no experience of using

Photoshop this came as a challenge however after

practice I have learnt to manipulate photos and

edit them in a way to look more suitable music

for a magazine. I’ve also learnt how to using

Photoshop is a trial and error process and it is

important to try out as many different versions of

the magazine as possible.

COMMUNICATION

I have learnt that there are many ways in which

to communicate information. The use of a blog

I’ve found is a clear and easy way to

communicate and organise my ideas. As well as

the use of Slideshare which I have found is a very

efficient way to evaluate my work in a clear way.
