Evaluation Question 6What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Page 2: Evaluation question 6

Computer/Laptop• In the creation of my magazine I used three kinds of

computers. • The first was the school computers that gave me

access to most of the software I needed such as Photoshop.

• The second was my own Acer 5935G laptop that allowed me to access my blog from any location that has internet access allowing me more mobility in my work.

• Finally I used my home computer a wide screen computer that allowed me to work at home and

upload and access images from the internet much faster then any of the other computers I used

Camera• I used a Fuji Finepix 2800 camera to take the

pictures for my magazine. I used this particular type of camera as it is my camera and I know how to use it better than the cameras that we have at school, It is a practical piece of equipment that is light weight and easy to carry

• It also allows me easy access to my pictures as well a the ability to upload them quickly onto my laptop.

Memory Sticks• I used two memory sticks through out the

creative process of both my blog and Music magazine.

• I used the Kingston Data Traveller with 1GB of memory to store my word documents and power points allowing me to take them every where I went.

• And I used my other Kingston Traveller with 4GB to carry my Photoshop and JPEG images, so that I could take them to the different rooms in school that have Photoshop.

Microsoft Word• I used Microsoft word to store the collected

information and images I have gather for this course in a well organised and productive manor.

• I also used word to quickly or methodically make notes on and jot down ideas that come to me as I was working on this project.

•Word was also useful for writing up information necessary for my project and add to the internet using....

Scribd• I used Scribd to upload word documents that

I have created to the internet and then using the embed code add it to my blog.

• I used the documents on scribd that other people had uploaded to help me get a better idea of the Rock music genre, as an alternative to Google.

• I used Scribd to get a better idea of how effective my work is by reading the number of views my documents received and the comments left by the readers.

Microsoft Power point

•I used power points to display my findings in a effective and colourful manner that is easy to read and understand.

•I used Power points •I used PowerPoint to create some of the

mood boards I created to illustrate the style of Rock music that would be shown in my magazine.

Page 8: Evaluation question 6

Slideshare• I used Slideshare to upload my power points

onto the internet so that I could add them onto my blog using the embed code.

• I also used Slide share to upload word documents when Scribd was not working correctly.

•Using Slide share was quick and easy although my blog did have some problems with the embed codes sometimes as one of my power points was labelled as none existent.

Prezi

•I used Prezi to plan out my research and planning using a Spider diagram, as well as create interactive written documents that were easy to navigate across.

•I have learnt alot about how to use Prezi’s writing tools and diagram functions during the creation of my project as I spent alot of time working on it.

Photoshop

•I used Photoshop heavily throughout the creation of my Rock Music magazine as it is the only software that I have at my disposal that allows me to alter images in the manner I needed to create my magazine as well as layer these factors together to create a finish piece.

•Photoshop has allowed me to remove and alter the slightest of discrepancies in an image to make it seem almost flawless.

Page 11: Evaluation question 6

Google

•I have used this search engine to do the main body of my research as it allows me to access a wider variety of examples from this genre.

Page 12: Evaluation question 6

YouTube

•I used this site to research the style of music I was basing my music on and also include factors you can see in these videos into my magazine such as the lighting and camera angles they use in the variety of Rock performances.

Page 13: Evaluation question 6

Blogger

•Blogger has allowed me to put my ideas and research into an open area where a variety of different people can give me their opinions on the subjects and opinions I put forward.

Page 14: Evaluation question 6

Font Generator

•I used the font generator to Look for more interesting and creative

fonts to use in my work and on my final design as you can see. The variety of fonts is only limited by the number of font generators and creators you use to find the exact font you are looking for.

Over View•Over all it is clear to me that I have learnt a

great deal about the technologies I have used in the creation of this magazine as my skills with most of this technology was practically none existent before I started to research this topic and this project has allowed me to further develop these skills and hone my eyes to find the smallest of flaws on a piece of work. Although due to the limited time in which I had to do so I have probably missed a few of these fauls.
