1. SCRIPT Evaluation - Question 5 How did you attract and address your audience? I attracted the audience to my final film opening production in many ways. First off, I used clear stereotyping of the characters and the audience that I am expecting to watch my film. The stereotypes are used throughout, such as the language, which adds to the theme. The main characters are male and have a controlling and vital part in the storyline; however I also used females as a sex icon to attract male audiences, which is the main factor of my audience. Secondly I used my blog to promote my production, along with various social networking sites. This is a type of marketing that I used alongside film posters and advertisement I created and posted on my blog. If I were to produce my film fully and in cinemas I would attract my audience through a larger marketing team, across the country. I also attracted the audience through the plot and storyline. This is shown through the use of cliff- hangers and violence, aimed specifically at the target audience. It keeps them wondering what is going to happen next and therefore keep watching. Key moments are a part of this, as for using guns, grungy locations and the actions of the characters. This adds to the attraction of the film as it is part of the theory of escapism, where the audience want to escape their real life; and do so by watching this. I used sound in my production also to appeal to the audience, as I used modern and upbeat music to attract the younger adult audience and also to keep the whole production up to date in society. I finally also attract the audience through the titles of my production, as it uses simple, bold titles contrasting explosive and in your face end titles to jump out at the audiences, to make sure their attention is on the film. In conclusion, I believe I effectively attracted the correct audience through various aspects of my production, pre and post of the final product. This is proven by all the positive feedback received throughout.
