So what kind of person would my target audience consist of?Age: 16-24, a mature but playful personalityGender: As my film is not particularly tailored for a specific gender I’d say a mostly gender-neutral audience, possibly with more males simply because of the type of comedy within the film.Values and Beliefs: Accepts that humour can be created from the failure/downfall of people in a fictional context. Possible distaste (or familiarity) with dirt and the outdoors.Media Consumption: Probably a regular consumer of a wide range film and TV, possibly going on frequent trips to both indie and mainstream cinemas. Might be a fan of some popular indie films like “Perks of Being a Wallflower” and “Dope”.Music taste will be wide but may tend towards alternative and easy listening (Muse, Newton Faulkner, Paolo Nutini…) New consumption would be limited to passive radio listening.Communities: Will be familiar with a number of sites including Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and SnapChat. May have a YouTube channel with few or no videos.

What factors attract an audience to the film?Genre: An independent comedy with themes of action. Very physical humour.Visuals: Some special effects on titles. Captivating slow motion that captures hilarious moments. Considerate framing.Sound: Interesting choice of music to compliment/contrast with the action on screen. Adds to comic effect. Slightly exaggerated acting for humour.Themes/content: Relatable themes of camping and general failure. Props are all fairly affordable/common and so wouldn’t seem like too much of a separated reality.
