evaluation question 4

Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product? The target audience for my music magazine would be 16 above, my magazine appealed to the desired target audiences as I asked some peers to comment upon certain aspects of my magazine. It has proven rather successful with my peers who are the target audience, which suggest that if I was to publish this magazine it may do well. However, some comments may be biased as they’re my peers, and probably wouldn’t want to offend me, but I believe they gave their true thoughts and feelings suggesting improvements. I set up a closed group of Facebook, uploaded all 3 JPEG formats and invited some members of the class and some other students who don’t study the course to get their uninvolved opinions of my work. I invited 12 people, all of the age of my target audience, 5 people from my class, 1 former college student who studied media at AS and A2 level and has continues to study media at University, then 6 people who don’t do the subject just to get their personal opinion and honest thoughts on my magazine. I posted all my pages and some participants commented on my front cover, but weren’t just solely commenting on my front page, making minor comments on my other pages. Some participants commented on each individual picture to give their opinion on that picture. These are the comments from my front cover: Most people tended to like the colour scheme which was consistent throughout which meant it gave the magazine a professional feel to it which may be shocked and surprised at how it turned out. A few people commented on how the background highlights the bright colours used which I was wary about because I didn’t think that they’d compliment each other. People also commented of the pictures and how they

These are the comments from my front cover:

Most people tended to like the colour scheme which was consistent throughout which meant it gave the magazine a professional feel to it which may be shocked and surprised at how it turned out. A few people commented on how the background highlights the bright colours used which I was wary about because I didn’t think that they’d compliment each other. People also commented of the pictures and how they look professional due to the editing and the quality. Another participant who has studied Media at AS and A2 level and has continued to study it at University thinks that the only improvement for my front cover is to use fonts that aren’t already installed in the computer, to use unusual fonts.

Comments from the contents page:

Comments from my double page spread:

Again, the participants enjoy the consistent colour scheme throughout all of my pages. Also one participant picked up the fact that the two images used were from two different shoots. She also suggested some improvements such as moving a few words around.

Most participants enjoyed the double page spread, a few pointed out some spelling errors which I was quick to change. Most people have said that they would buy my magazine proving that everything I have done has been successful in attracting my target audiences.
