What did you learn about the Indie Pop genre conventions?

Our Genre is Indie Pop.

Colours; Indie; Usually white and black down to the usual sad, sombre mood

of the song. Pop; Bright colours that show the happiness.

Camera Angles & Shots; Indie; Typically lots of close ups or the lead singer/band (money shots). Pop; Again, lots of close ups of the artist themselves.

Location; Indie; No conventional location. Pop; Normally in cities, beaches, places that represent happiness.

What genre conventions have you included and not included and why?

The conventions we have used are listed below:

Colours; The shots of Tommy lip syncing are in black

and white. There are a variety of shots that show lots

of bright colours, such as shots from Winter Wonderland, these show the happiness.

Camera Angles & Shots; There are lots of close-ups of Tommy, the

artist not only signing, but he is also featured in the story line of the video with his on screen girlfriend.

Location; We have used a wide range of locations that

signify happiness, such as Winter Wonderland and Brighton. This fits with the conventional locations of the Pop genre.

What did you learn about Digipak conventions?

After doing some individual research I have found that the majority of digipaks have the following things; A central image of the artist/s. A brand identity. Title of the album and the artist/s name. Track listing. Review from a renowned magazine or

organization.

What Digipak conventions have you included and not included and why?

In our Digipak we have included the following; Central image of the artist. Our brand identity, which is Tommy holding the

heart. We have the title of our album, ‘Moments’ and

the artists name ‘Cody Banks’ on the Digipak. Track listings.

What did you learn about Digipak Advert conventions?

After doing some individual research I have found that the majority of Digipak Adverts have the following things; A central image of the artist/s. A brand identity. Title of the album and the artist/s name. Date of release. Review from a renowned magazine or

it.

How your use of conventions might attract or appeal to an audience?

The use of our conventions may attract an audience due to the ‘feel good feeling’ of our video, this is a convention of the Pop genre and it is all about love and happiness.

We have also used a lot of Black and White when Tommy sings. This is a convention of Indie, and this will appeal to our target audience which is teenagers, and it will especially appeal to young females.
