TRANSCRIPT
7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
Faults- Image is not positioned
correctly- Writing is not bold
enough- The posterise effect of
the background makes it less unprofessional
- Font looks standard for a magazine therefore making it look less authentic
- Cutting out of the image is not done correctly making it look amateur.
Improvements- Image is positioned
correctly ( in the centre so it’s the main focus)
- Background is simple so everything else stands out and also making it look more professional
- Text is more visible and the fonts are related to the genre.
- Has real features that a an actual magazine would have (barcode).
Conclusion
To conclude, I have gained a much batter understanding of the expectations and the standard a magazine should be at so that it look professionally done and as though it is on the shelves in the supermarkets. I have learnt a lot of new skills and some of them are: how to crop and edit images, typography, composition and different effects that can be added to make something seem more real. All of these help to make a effective magazine cover, contents page and double page spread. I feel that I have made a huge difference in my knowledge about all the software I used in the process of making the magazine and in my ability to create a magazine which is well formulated.
