Evaluation Q2 How efective is the combination o your main product and your ancillary texts? My ancillary tasks made it clear there was a genre of drama thriller through the camera angles I used. It was a trial and error process because I initially had a poster that didn’t clearly represent my character as a victim, because she was emotionless in the face. There was a clear indication that my protagonist was in a similar location seen as in the opening of my lm, where she is surrounded by a rural environment of nature and greenery. This was important to link when creating my ancillary so my audience were able to associate the character and familiarise themselves with where she is located in the production. Having my antagonist featured in the poster was most important and so was another development from the original draft where he did not. s I had only ! main characters, the poster represented this by the placing. Evaluation Q2

How efective is the combination o your main product andyour ancillary texts?

My ancillary tasks made it clear there was a genre of drama thrillerthrough the camera angles I used. It was a trial and error process becauseI initially had a poster that didn’t clearly represent my character as avictim, because she was emotionless in the face. There was a clearindication that my protagonist was in a similar location seen as in theopening of my lm, where she is surrounded by a rural environment ofnature and greenery. This was important to link when creating my ancillaryso my audience were able to associate the character and familiarisethemselves with where she is located in the production.

Having my antagonist featured in the poster was most important and sowas another development from the original draft where he did not. s Ihad only ! main characters, the poster represented this by the placing."aith is centred and #uke is positioned slightly behind her. This is e$ectiveas it will indicate to my target audience that he is in some way a problemto my antagonist. %imilar to my actress, I directed Michael when taking hisphoto so he appeared to be aggressive and threatening, through hisceased eye brows and cold glare at the camera. &ombining their photoson the poster made it immediately clear that the narrative would include avictim. This worked as it was bolder due the sinister theme that I hadincluded, which it played on well.

This is the openingscene of my nalproduction which

includes "aith in Hyde'ark. The greenery andlight shades of yellowis what inspired thecolour theme I chosefor my ancillary te(ts,

The colour theme also plays an important factor in identifying boththe production and ancillary, making it a more professional

approach, similar to how a real life lm and poster would bedesigned. The lm review photo was picked based on "aith’s bodylanguage, as I think this chosen one communicates anuncomfortable and sad atmosphere. This is the type of indication Iintended to give the target audience to intrigue them and give thema reason to watch the lm. "aith is also seen in her primary happyplace, outdoors where she writes her notes in the beginning of thelm, however, the angle of her head looking down represents her tobe lost and victimised. I felt it would create an opposition to see herless happy in the photo in a place where she is e(pected to feelmost at home.

The fonts have been e$ective as they have also linked with eachother and the lm in style, using multiple bolds and highlighters forboth ancillary’s. &ertain words such as )you’ and *uestions in thete(t have been targeted for this, to constantly make the audiencethink, +ust as the voiceover in the lm has as "aith asks theaudience the concluding *uestion about whether they’d give up thegreatest moments in their lives to take away the worst.

The combination of the two have been e$ective because through

my audience feedback, they were sure that the ancillary lookedappropriate to what they had seen, and for those who hadn’t yetseen the production, they thought the poster and lm review lookedrelatable to the type of genre and themes in the production thoughthe chosen photos. "or these reasons, I believe the ancillary andproduction have been e$ective in promoting the lm in the rightway as *uite serious and sensitive, whilst maintaining and linking tothe production through colour themes and fonts.
