EVALUATION POST 3By Joseph Nicholls

Page 2: Evaluation post 3

Why have you chosen your production

company logo?• we have chosen this particular Production

company logo because it looks

Professional and it fits in very well with our

chosen Genre. Hence the colours are very

credible in a way because although the

background is Black this draws the viewers

attention to the image, the image is neutral

and has light reflecting of it making it seem

real we tried to do this because it’s a

perspective and that’s one of the big

characteristics of Psychological Thrillers

it’s all about perspective. This conveniently

brings us to our name which is Perspective

Productions it is quite an unusual name but

the fact that it’s alliteration means that it

will stay in someone’s head because it

reads well. The chosen font looks like hand

writing which builds a mystery to the image

and this shows that it is a Psychological

Thriller.

What is a production company? What do

they do?• The production company is the brand behind the movie, you have the

title of the movie and then you have the production company. It’s official definition: A production company provides the physical basis for works in the realms of the performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, and video.

• The production company is very important in all aspects of Film, for example the production company is responsible for the Fund Raising, Budgeting, scheduling and the scripting for a film, without which there wouldn’t be a film to watch. The production company is also in charge of casting not just actors but finding the right director with the right ideas and also a producer who is basically is in charge of everything out of production apart from budgeting. The company is also in control of making sure all the resources are in the right place at the right time, this would include food for everyone on production and furthermore props and materials. They are accountable for everything posts production so marketing i.e. advertising and a trailer, of the film and any merchandise that can be sold. If any problems occur during production it is vital that the production company resolve it quickly so that everything may continue smoothly.

What is the job of a film distributor?

• The film distributor is a company or individual in charge of

marketing they can choose when the release date of a film is

and how the film is exhibited or shown and part of this is

deciding whether it is shown directly to the public by which ever

means, for example DVD, Blu-ray, or download. The distributor

has to take into account the risks that the film may face, if a

certain media has the chance of being taken advantage of then

less profit will be made. A distributor can release his film

directly, if the distributor owns the theatre's or film

distribution networks he may do this as he wishes. Or he can

do it through theatrical exhibitors and other sub-distributors. (A

limited distributor may deal only with particular products, such

as DVDs or Blu-ray, or may act in a particular country or

market).

Which film distributor would you choose

for your film and why? What other films

have they distributed that are similar to

yours?

• I would choose an online film distributor because

especially in this day and age people watch many films

online and the enormity of this area of the industry has a

lot of profit. It can be distributed similarly to usual

distributions. We are more specifically going to choose

Dynamo as our distributor as it is a global website where

films can be released for people to see across the world.

How would your film be funded? Lottery?

• There are a few different ways we could fund our film:

• 1: Apply for funding.

• 2:Raise money for it.

• 3: Get another company to produce it.

Titles - Why do you need them? How

have you presented them?• Title are very important because they represent the

company or film, they are a close depiction of what that

title says about the brand they name. For my production

logo I chose to call my institution ‘Perspective

Productions’ this is because a Perspective is what a

Psychological thriller film is all about so it fits in perfectly

with my film. The font I used is almost a handwritten font

which is used to show verisimilitude and this just gives

another perspective.

Page 8: Evaluation post 3

What films have influenced you from the

industry and why?• I think a big film that has influenced us has been

‘Inception’ because it is a recent psychological thriller that

has impacted new films vastly. It’s a film with a lot of

suspense and question pending throughout the film.

• ‘Now you see me’ is another psychological thriller that has

influence my film because it doesn’t just contain action

which is seen in so may other films lately and I wanted to

make my film different to others so I decided to make the

psychological side of my film the main theme.
