7. LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK,
WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN
THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO YOUR
FULL PRODUCT?
Looking back at my preliminary task, it is clear to see that my editing and
Photoshop skills have improved dramatically along the way. I have learnt how
to use the programme to my advantage and how to use the features within the
programme in order to create a high quality final product. In comparison to
my preliminary task of creating a college magazine, you can notice a
significant difference in the standard of work produced. For example in my
final product I have used the space provided in a much more efficient way
which allowed for the page to be used to its full potential.
I have also learnt a lot about magazine conventions since creating my first
magazine cover page in my preliminary task. In my final task I was able to
use my knowledge of magazine conventions to ensure that mine did not
break too many of them, this allowed for my finished product to look as
professional as possible and made my magazine look as genuine as
possible.
Since creating my preliminary task cover page, it is apparent that I have been
able to use the internet and websites to my ability in order to find out
information about target audiences and how to use websites such as
dafont.com in order to make my product stand out from others on the market.
It is important that I was able to do this because it would make my product be
in higher demand that similar products available, which would boost
popularity and readership.
Use of relevant images is also another major feature that I have learnt about
in my progression to the final product, this is due to having to do a lot of
market research into what types of images that the target audience want to see
which allowed me to ensure that they attract my audience into buying my
magazine. Without having images that attract your audience it is much less
likely for the magazine to be a lot more successful as a whole.
As you can see below, my final product is of much higher quality than the magazine
created in the preliminary task, which is due to better researching methods and a
more detailed knowledge about editing software and magazine conventions.
