To make my bag I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, so that I could blend and edit images easily. As well as being able to change the opacity, size, shape and texture of the material used.

When creating the front of my bag I used a range of different styles of editing such as the shape/line tool to create a P and an F standing for Pink Floyd (the band I’m using for my bag). I also used brightness/contrast tool to darken the background, making the foreground dominant. I made two rota scope images as the monster from the wall and the bass guitarist from pink Floyd, Roger Waters.

Tools I Used:

Select Tool (to move around images and text) Quick Select / Magic Wand Tool (to select specific areas of pictures e.g. removing a

background) Crop Tool ( to select a rectangular section of an image and removing the rest) Eyedropper Tool ( to reuse the same colour twice or more)

(Spot) Healing Brush ( to remove writing in images such as:

Pencil Tool ( to draw around an image for a rota scope image) History Brush ( to undo mistake or to keep only certain parts of images with others removed) Eraser Tool ( to remove parts of images) Paint Bucket Tool ( to fill in colour for my rota scope images) Blur/ Sharpen/ Smudge Tool ( to neaten edges of shapes and pictures) Text Tool ( to add text in different fonts, sizes and settings such as underline and bold) Shape Tool ( to create different shapes such my Pink Flyod logo and the triangle in the centre

of it)

Hand Tool ( to move around to examine other parts of the image I’m editing) Zoom Tool ( to zoom in, in parts of my image so that I can edit more accuratly and effectivly)

I’m pleased with my bag as I have used as variety of tools and it has overall come out very simular to my plan but with improvements which I think have made it look a lot better.

I chose to use the band Pink Floyd because I am familiar with it and think they have very interesting and eye-catching album cover art. This art works well with the HMV logo and makes the logo come together and look in place with the rest of the art and colour around it.

If I could improve it I think I would have spent more time on the side and the bottom however they are not as important the front and the back which have more space and would be seen first and the most. This is why I spent as much time as I could perfect the front and the back of my bag. I think I did well removing most of the white keeping it from being plain and boring which cause it to become less attractive. I tried to combine to albums together with this bag “The Wall” and “The Dark Side of the Moon” which I have called “The Dark Side of the Wall”. However I didn’t include a list of songs on the back this wasn’t very important but could have been a useful extra. I would have also liked to make more interesting handles even though it wouldn’t be seen while held, I could have made it more interesting to look at and more comfortable to hold.
