From looking at other thriller films and my own I know that my audience will probably be:• Aged 15-25, as I found out from some research that the usual age

to watch thriller/horror is this age, as a young adult. Older people will mostly prefer realistic movies as they seem more mature.

• Female, even though I know that men are more likely to be fans of horror/thriller movies, as they stereotypically have quite a thrill seeking attitude, my film opening will target mostly females because of the main character who is a strong, independent female.

And• Working class, this is because of the thrill, excitement and

suspense you feel when watching a thriller which you can get for quite a cheap price, also higher class are more likely to watch a sub-genre of horror due to its level of sophistication that those type of films have.

A lot of people who like horror/thriller films will also like being outside their comfort zone, and enjoy things like rollercoasters and extreme sports and other things that create thrill.If you compare my film opening with some of the processional films I looked at you can see that the target audience is almost identical, for example the target audience for taken 3 is mostly males, 59% to females at 41%, aged 15-24, 40%, of class AB, 21%, and C1, 34%. You can also see from some of my institutional research that inception producers, warner bros have a target audience of ages 18-34, and twentieth century fox are targeted at all ages but mostly young adult.
